Awesome place to stay, Highly recommend to all.
By Binky, 01/25/10
We pretty much were completely satisfied with everything. Service was excellent, very accomodating with everything you could ask for or possibly want. The room was clean and very comfortable and they do have wi fi that works just great. Saddleridge Restaurant and lounge and Arthurs Cafe were real nice and friendly and clean. Food was really good. Never really have to leave the premises. We were there for Grandson Naval graduation. It was awesome how they had a discount and a wonderful Meet & Greet for the families and friends of all graduates, the food was good finger foods and veggies and dips and salsa and chips, real nice. They have pool tables and games up there also. very courteous personnel and they kept the food filled up and service was great. You were given a drink coupon and then you had to pay for all other drinks. The deluxe continetal breakfast was very good. Juice, coffee, tea, milk. Cereal, waffles, bagels, donuts. Someone was on duty if anything needed filled or anything else was needed. Very nice clean area. Then as a Cafe they had other hours. Everything was well worth the money and someone was always waiting to help you out. Great Service all around. Pool was big and they have a sauna and hot tub. Very large area and tables and chairs all over. Pool is heated, sort of odd to swim and see snow just outside the window. lol. There were several seating areas one near a fireplace and very cozy. Exercize and gift shop was nice...They could probably sell more stuff if they had it. We only need clean towels and not clean up so i ask the maid for towels and she took care of it. I just didn't need her to change the bed. We were leaving on Saturday and she would have to clean up all over the place. I am glad we stayed here and they only thing we were not real happy about is trying to pull out of the hotel onto Rt 131, it you are going the way of traffic it is great otherwise I suggest go out and around to the lights to pull out and come back around. Store and restaurants everywhere very close by. We did the Jelly Belly Bean tour and went to Kenosha, WI to eat at Ron's Place which was a great reccommendation. Excellent food. Even a super wal-mart near by. Everythin from White Castles to Olive Gardens...all very close by. The Gurnee Mills Mall is excellent, wonderful outlet stores and tons of fun. love the RainForest Cafe.

Old and Nasty Smelling
By kc, 08/21/09
Nasty and smelly. The first room was so horribly nasty smelling that we asked for a second room. The second room was nasty smelling, but not as bad as the first. It was late at night and we decided to keep the room. The hallways were funky smelling, too. Our second room smells like moth balls and the bathroom smells like stale urine and mold. We haven't ordered room service, but I did see a room service tray this AM and the food wasn't touched. This place belongs in the National Lampoon's Griswold's Vacation. YUCK! I brought my bathing suit, but I'm too afraid to even look at the pool... I can see it through my window and that's enough for me. We are looking for another hotel for the remainder of our trip.

This is a real good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Everyone was very polite; I must say that Robin went the extra mile. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaint was the the internet service was slow. It was really helpful that the rooms had a small fridge and microwave. I would certainly go there again.

Ruined the Ramada name
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/09
I thought the staff and bed were nice but that's about it. The location is horrible it looks like the hood. I thought it would be nice considering it was by six flags, but I was wrong. The rooms are very junky. The wall paper was gross as well as the celings and floors. We could have gotten a motel for half the cost and the room would prolly look the same. Overall I was very dissatified.

Worst hotel experience in my life
By JonL, 08/29/08
We went for naval graduation and regret every second I spent in this dump. It smelt so bad I was ready to leave instantly. We purchased a can of Fabreeze from the local store and that didn't help. The pillows looked as if they were a few years old. The floor looked like an old whore house. They were sticky and we refused to take our shoes off in the room. The screen on the window was so bent we couldn't open the window to get the stinge out, because the bugs were flying in. I would have rather slept in my car at a rest area than sleep in this hotel. What a waste of money. I don't like to complain but this place was a serious dump. I wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy. I wish somebody would have warned me prior to booking the room. I will never stay in a Ramada again.

would stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/08
Went for my son's navy graduation,my first time traveling. Enjoyed my stay at Ramada. Staff was extremely helpful with directions of sites to see and any concerns I might have. The food was good but a little expensive. Would have liked a small refrigerator in the room though. Free continental breakfast and newspaper were a very nice touch.

Our night out
By LTICC, 11/27/07
We had a group of our girls from church stay out a night at the Ramada the service, everything was great, they made our stay enjoyable. They can't wait to do it again. Staff is very corteous, and the new Breakfast buffet is really nice. They've upgrade rooms to make the stay at Ramada better, there's a more elegant touch to it. Stay there for a night or two, you'll enjoy it!

Close to Naval Base, good place to stay
By Amy, 10/18/07
We stayed here because it was only about 3 miles away from the Great Lakes Naval Base. After driving around Waukegan, there were several hotels that were closer to the base, but this one was the cheapest with the most amenities. They had a shuttle to and from the graduation, which was nice. This hotel does not have an elevator, but there are only 2 floors, Ramada never mentioned that there was no elevator. The hotel does smell old, musty and smoky. There was only 1 plug in, in the bathroom. This hotel has a great continental breakfast, they had anything you would want. The beds were really comfortable. They have a huge pool, a good sized whirlpool and sauna. They have a small fitness room with 3 machines in it. This hotel is close to the Gurnee Mills Mall. The Jelly Belly Factory is close by and the Volo Car Museum along with all kinds of restaurants. If you go to Chicago take the Metra, there is a station 1/4 mile from the Naval Base. In chicago you can take the CTA around town and you can purchase a one day pass for $5 that is good for unlimited use on the CTA and the busses.
