Experience the ghetto at low rates!
By Workingclass, 01/21/09
The entire place smelled bad. The water from the shower was brownish yellow and all fixtures were moldy. The ceiling above the shower was covered in mold. There was holes in the wall and a huge burn on the carpet. I went to find the soda machine on the second floor there were people drinking malt beverages out of large bottles and smoking. They also had a dog running the halls. The pool looked condemned. The internet description is far from it. Stay away from Americas Best Value chain. I have had similar experiences in the past. If It was not forced here by my job I would not stay here. Other places in Galesburg are way better for the same cost.

BEWARE, authorities should investigate
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/08
We walked in to the lobby which did not look too bad, so we booked a room. We dropped our bags off inside the door of our room and left to spend what was left of the day downtown. We returned late evening and were horrified to see our room the next day in sunlight. The boxsprings under the mattress was torn and urine stained. The draperies were in shreds. The walls are covered in water leak stains. The phone jack was hanging by wires from the wall. The carpeting had toenails in it. The television only received a few of the listed channels. The bathroom should be reported to authorities, we have notified the Illinois Attorney General. There was "matter" caked on the faucets. The bathtub had black mold on the tiles, and filth had hardened and was on every surface. Worst of all, within a day of leaving we were covered in red bumps...bed bugs! I only hope a Galesburg authority reads this review and takes action - we have attempted to find a way to report the conditions to a health authority in Galesburg, but have not been able to find an agency we can contact. We have found internet reviews of this establishment with dire warnings from former visitors, laced intermitantly with suspicious bogus "pleasant stay" reports which I would suspect is coming from management themselves. Better to sleep in your car than to approach this establishment!

Looked really nice on the computer
By hilde1951, 06/20/08
However it was a much different story in person. I arrived and asked for some assistance as I needed help with my oxygen and bags. I was told they had no bellmen and the Desk Clerk showed me where the carts were. I had booked this for two nights, and didn't want the hassle of changing hotels The rooms were musty smelling and the shower's were very bad. The sink had stain's in it. The only good things about this trip were I got to see my son, it didn't cost an arm and leg.. and I could sleep in a clean bed. Other than that, I not comming back.

We will be back in July
By Jessica C, 02/25/08
I really liked the employees, they were so helpful. My Daughter lost her blanket when we had to change rooms, because we showed up a day early, and Marie helped us find it. She could have just said no one found it and left it at that. When we told them the kids were really looking forward to going swimming the manager made sure that they got the pool fixed promptly. I was upset that none of the ice machines were working, but that was really my only complaint.

Galesburg offers much nicer motels for around the same price.
By DIANA, 09/26/07
The shower had crud built up in the shower doors, and one of our rooms had dirty clothes on the floor. This was the dirtiest motel I have ever been to.The rooms were dirty, we stayed two years ago and it has gone downhill in this time. The whole inside is in serious need of renovation, at least a good cleaning.
