Horizon Inn, Carbondale

We paid $50 a night, and it was definitely not worth it. This should be a $30 a night place. The carpets around the ice machine were soaked. The jacuzzi has never worked when we've been there. The continental breakfast consisted of Little Debbie snack cakes and a pitcher of Tang.

If you know whats best for you do not stay here. The management is shady and will not give refunds (even though they should pay you to stay there). The toliets overflowed one weekend and rooms were not reimbursed. The Better Business Buearu has had several complaints sent to them from prior guest. If you can't get a room in Carbondale, the drive to Marion is well worth it.

Can't believe anyone would give this place anything but the WORST rating!! Our group stayed there and it was filthy. Rooms dirty..dirty carpets, bathrooms, towels were nothing more than rags, holes in ceilings, wires hanging from ceilings, areas of the hotel closed off because they were so bad. It should be condemned! Even the desk clerk told us foreigners had bought the hotel and were sucking the money out of it. In need of MAJOR repairs! It was ghost town except for our group that was there. (that should have been a sign...the parking lot was empty!)

This place was so dirty all over. I would never go back. My family and I checked out early because of the environment. Many other guests had the same problems. In our room the toliet was broke. We had to go to the front desk to get our oun towels and TOLET TISSUE. When we called the front desk they would never answer. The pool was dirty with all kinds of bugs floting around in it. Also the air was not working right, so in the rooms and the hall ways it seem like a sauna. It was said by other guests that have been guests here plenty of times before, that the the place has really fell apart because of the new management. I would say in my car instead of this place.
