You get what you pay for

Before staying at this hotel I had read all of these reviews and was nervous. I just want to say that, while yes, all of these bad reviews are true, it still is not that bad. Here's what I think is an honest assessment of the hotel:
THE BAD
-Rooms are small
-Carpets are very dirty
-Mirrors in lobby have thick coat of grime
-Elevator is VERY small and delapedated
-Cabinet holding TV is falling apart
-Paint chipping everywhere
-Door to hotel room hard to shut
-Free breakfast is only from 7:30-8:30
-Annoying salesman stationed right outside door
THE GOOD
-Service is friendly
-Location is wonderful and convenient
-Clean and nice bathroom
-Clean bed
-Its cheap
Honestly, when we first arrived, having stayed the last time at the Hilton Village, I was deeply disappointed. However, we got used to it and you know what? It's not that bad! It was probably once a beautiful hotel that has just really run down. But its cheap, its close to all the action on Waikiki and, for goodness sake, you're in Hawaii! All you need is a clean bed and a clean bathroom is all you need (which they were). Maybe I had just been spoiled by the Hilton, but this place is definitely not exactly the horror story that these reviews say. You will not run away screaming from this hotel. It's not a palace, but it is definitely not a dungeon.
