wonderful location, price and sooo relaxing.
By ,
My trip included my daughter and grand daughter to celebrate her college graduation. What an experience, we loved unit 116, and would ask for it anytime. It was not the Ritz but clean and comfortable. The waves at night lulled you to sleep, the view anytime of the day was so beautiful, sunset and sunrise, This property is a secluded piece of heaven. When arriving you enter a doorway that is not too exciting but just step inside, you will be wowed. We had room for all of us with all the cooking utensils and dishes for a meal cooked on the waters edge. A short walk to the market is unbelievable in the early morning hours. Food is available from a short distance. Walking is recommended or if you run this is paradise. the landscape in the doorway was just beautiful. We soaked it all up before coming back home. I would recommend this location to anyone if you are not looking for luxury and flashy , this is a simple but beautiful condo. No regrets !

Polynesian Shores 126

"First impressions are everything, and we couldn't have asked for a better one than we walked into your condo! The condo is decorated beautifully and the view is spectacular. We saw one of the most beautiful rainbows we've ever seen one morning right after a light morning shower. It was post card material. Sailboats cross in front of you all day long and waves crashing on the shore lull you to sleep at night. We BBQ’ D every night on the wonderful Tiki deck. W met some wonderful people. We wouldn't stay in any other place. Thank you very much for the use of your beautiful condo. The next time we're in Maui, this is where we hope to stay Thanks Greg”

Polynesian Shores 126
By ,
The photographs and words on this website are an understatement. They do not do justice to the real thing. This condo is absolutely amazing and the view - fabulous. I was really cynical about renting through the web, I was sure Greg was filtering the negative comments and I was setting myself up for a vacation from hell. I searched everywhere to find 1 negative comment, but nothing. Lo and behold, when I opened the door to the condo, I was shocked at the cleanliness and comfort of the condo. This trip was the celebration of my parent’s 65-birthdays so I wanted to make it something to remember, but I also wanted to make sure that the 3 grandkids were taken care of. THIS WAS JUST FABULOUS. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean and so were the bathrooms. YOU HAD EVERYTHING YOU COULD USE AND MORE. The kitchen was very well equipped, we had planned to cook at the condo our entire trip, we had access to the farmer’s market, a 10-minute walk from the condo and we had all the utensils we could use and more. BEST PART – washer and drier!!! Being on California time, we were up by 7am and would do yoga while sitting on the beautiful lawn facing the ocean. Our neighbors were just great, very friendly. We met so many new and nice people who stopped by the condo or while we were at the pool. Breakfast would always be outside on the lanai with whales frolicking on the horizon and turtles playing just feet away. The SUNSETS….outstanding. Great beaches are just minutes away – Napili and Kanapaali are ones recommended and we loved. If you want to enjoy Maui, this is the place the stay. No stress, clean and very comfortable. I would recommend them any day and would stay at this and other condos owned by Greg Salmon any day. THANKS A TON GREG!!! Polynesian Shores 126 is hands down the best

Polynesian Shores 126 in the best
We just got back from our stay in Maui. We stayed in Kahana at Polynesian Shores. We rented a unit 126 at Polynesian Shores. This is absolutely the best unit in the complex. Ground floor ocean front. unreal views. The atttention to detail in hte unit was also really Hawaiian.

BEWARE Units #126 & #113 & Greg Salmon
By ,
While Polynesian Shores is a wonderful property and top-notch location, BE FOREWARNED if you deal with units #113 or #126. Rentals are handled by Greg Salmon on behalf of his parents who own these units. We stayed in the 2-bedroom #126. Greg gives erroneous information (specific location of unit; Lanai [3,193 per 2000 Census] and Molokai [7,404 per 2000 Census] are uninhabited; no motorcycle rentals on Maui [personally saw over a half-dozen outlets]); rental agreement sent a couple days after I contacted him about availability & said I wanted to book the unit, then had wrong dates & number of nights & price was hiked from that quoted on their website. Took numerous phone calls/e-mails over ten-day period just prior to arrivel to obtain access information. Told by other condo owners at this property that Greg is known to overbook/overlap rentals and some folks arrive with no access info. He & parents spent the prior week up to the morning of our arrival staying in #126, then told cleaning lady and others they had left it “immaculate” for us. Examples of “immaculate” for our $150 cleaning fee: counters/tables undusted; floors unmopped; dirty & badly soiled towels - some of what we thought were “stains” came out after having used and laundered them; mirrored walls had smudges/drips/streaks; sizeable long-dead gecko under one chair; broken glass on vanity counter; bathroom throw rug filthy - shook it out in the shower the morning after our evening arrival and massive amount of lint/hair/sand/whatever fell into tub. Other issues with unit #126: hot water heater element out, couldn’t even finish a “Navy” shower; livingroom drape wouldn’t close; glass & screen patio doors (two each) worn so badly they were EXTREMELY hard to open - owner told ME to apply cooking oil to tracks; television NOT high-def despite statement on their website; 2 of 3 smoke detectors non-functional; 7 of 25 recessed overhead lights in various stages of “hanging” from ceiling; many of the plastic glasses had cracks and leaked; dishwasher almost made it through first load before it quit working; guest bath sink leaked and neither sink nor tub drain would close; master bedroom door wouldn’t latch, no working remote for TV (Greg said “I know”), short in dresser lamp wiring so unplugged it to avoid fire (owner agreed it needed to be replaced), large section of screening torn loose from louvered windows allowing birds to fly in, no drape on wall-to-wall window (this was corner unit with the grounds/pool/beach access walkway just outside the bedroom). And there were other issues. Once again, Polynesian Shores is an awesome property and unit #126 is one of the most prime locations on Maui, but BEWARE of renting this unit (or #113 with same owners). Note: we have stayed in other units at this property before, without issues.

It feels like home!
By ,
I've been here 3 times in the last 10 years. It feels like I'm visiting a relatives home. Old decor for the most part, but really an old Hawaiian experience (60's). Most items you will need to cook your meals are included in the apartment. You can relax with coffee on the lanai and enjoy the quiet brilliance of the ocean view and tropical breezes. No service during your stay, but you really don't need anything beyond what the apartments offer. You'll clean your own kitchens after use and make your own bed. It's worth it for the savings! Nothing fancy, but really relaxing. If you want to be pampered, this is not the place. This is a great budget location where you will still get the best views and access to the rocky shore to see the turtles from the barbeque area. I can't wait to return. I love the staff and the slow pace.

A nice surprise
By ,
We were having trouble finding a place in Kaanapali area in our price range but found Polynesian Shores to be just right. The views were spectacular, the deck was great, the whales were active, and the neighbors were friendly. Our unit was simple and a bit old, but clean, roomy, and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, just wish it could have been longer.

A great place to stay in Maui!
By ,
Polynesian Shores is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the tropical beauty of Maui. It's close to everything, but so much better than staying in a busy resort. All of the condos have great ocean views--spectacular sunsets with views of Molokai and Lanai. They are truly ocean front. Our condo was well-maintained and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed the barbecue deck which is right on the water! A family of turtles swims near shore in the morning. Polynesian Shores is a hidden gem, and we are looking forward to our next visit!
