Great Golf and Beach Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/09
There is not much more you could ask for--great hotel, wonderful room, perfect bed, and access to a most enjoyable golf course though it is a bit of a drive from the hotel. Wonderful restaurants nearby.

Perfect Anniversary Weekend
By Paul, 09/02/09
We spent the weekend at King and Prince and enjoyed every moment. The room was perfect, the anniversary dinner was great and the Sunday Brunch was delicious. We'd never visited St Simons Island before...but would go back in a minute, especially to stay at King and Prince.

Rules rule
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/09
Policy about everything, and more interested in their policies than in the comfort, enjoyment, or safety of their guests. For example, one night we were talking quietly by the hot tub, and the security guard came by and asked if we were staying at the resort. Seemed very dubious that we were, ignored offer to see room key, asked which room we were staying in, and finally arrived at relevant point that pool area closes at 10pm. Hotel management more interested in how it looks than in the experience of patrons. Power tools running constantly. Manager calls before 9 am, says at end of conversation "I hope I didn't wake you up."

Will not go back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/09
When we checked in we went to first room, door was left opened and room wasn't finished being clean. We were assigned a different room to and settled in for the night to diacover the room was infested with mosquitos. Shower curtain was soiled and had a bad odor. We were assigned another romm with a interior hall way which was an upgrade. Room was much better but had no water pressure in the shower. The rooms were very over priced for what they were. Should have paid $129.00 instead of 369.00. You can stay at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island for less money and get first class acconadations.

What a joke!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/09
The staff is difficult, rooms old and dirty, and there is absolutely NO one who is willing to adjust cost, even though your toilet doesn't flush.

Couples Golf Getaway!
By LaRita, 01/01/09
We liked the location. We paid $139 for an ocean front that really should be called ocean view and pool front. Newly renovated room is decorated nicely;however, the bathroom lacks any appeal. It is small and the renovations should have used a higher grade of materials if the hotel wants to charge more than $99 a night. The hotel is old and shows it in many places. If someone from the hotel is reading this, please get a new rug in the check in area! This is one of the first things your guests see and it was scary. The renovated rooms were much better. Also, with an ocean front room guests want to hear the ocean, not the pool waterfall all night. Please turn it off so that it does not interfere with the wonderful waves' sound audible from your hotel rooms. Great location close to golf, Jekyll Isand and a great places to eat. We ate ate Barbara Jeans in the Village. It really was GOOD! Crabcakes, Blackened Tuna, and pumkin bread were favorites. Great Bartender that makes a killer margarita! Golf on Jeykell Island largely overated. Best course "The Oleander" was closed. Overall a good quick getaway. Would not pay more than what we did for what we got.

Not what we expected and SAFETY CONCERNS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/08
Accomodations: The drainage in both bathrooms was a problem. Both of the sinks, the showers, and the commodes drained really, really sloooowly. For instance, taking a shower meant standing in about 3" of water, due to the slow drainage. Also, the ceilings in the bathrooms and hallways are very low -- about door height. I'm 5'7", and I could easily reach up and touch them. The ceilings were normal in the bedrooms and the living room, at about 8' in height. The air ducts apparently need cleaning, because the air vents had blown black residue onto the ceilings everywhere, to a distance of about 1'-2'. Security: THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN. Please be aware that there is public access to the beach through the middle of the resort grounds. There is a gate on the resort side, and a guest is supposed to have to insert their room card to get through. This keeps guests safe, by keeping people who aren't staying at the resort out. Unfortunately, the lock on the gate was BROKEN. This allows anyone to loiter around the hallways directly outside of the guest rooms. That's what happened to me. I was on my way to the beach, when I passed by a man hanging around the hallway. I really didn't think anything of it, and went on down to the beach. After some time, I felt like I was being watched. I turned around and the same man was there, staring at me from a short distance. I still didn't think anything of it. I just chalked it up to a coincidence, put it out of my mind, and went on. I moved down the beach, and after a while I had the same feeling. When I turned around again he was there again. No problem, I told myself, he'll go away. I moved down the beach and continued my activities. The third time I looked around, I saw that he was there yet again. He had followed me down the beach. By this time, I was alarmed. He quickly turned around and pretended to be interested in some rocks, then went back toward the resort. I wanted to go back to my rooms, but I was alone and though the passageway was close, I noticed that there were overgrown plants tall enough to hide a grown man lining both sides of the walk. I called the front desk, told them what had happened, and asked them to send a Security guard to walk me back to my room. They were very understanding, but when the Security guard arrived, he acted like he hadn't the slightest idea why he'd been called. He did walk me back to the elevator, and casually pointed out to me that the lock on the resort-side gate was broken. Since they were aware, WHY HAD THE RESORT NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT??? I made it okay, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Okay, so there were some minor uglies and drainage problems. BUT SAFETY???!!!

Shuttle from Airport
By Bluewater, 07/27/08
Landed at the airport for fuel and stayed with a recomendation from the local EAA club. Nice walk on the beach, walked to dinner (BBQ place but I survived even eating conservatively). Bed was less than comfortable but everything else was really nice. Pool was pleasant. I was surprised that the resort was so nice. We had originally planned to fly back to Jeckyll Island but the cross wind was very strong so we stayed put. Got a discount by working with the FBO.

Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
spent a week in a Condo w/ 2 bedrooms. Although in Dec. weather was great, ocean was outside our door, and everytime we called the desk for anything, they were there in a minute. Great for biking, walking, golfing and sight-seeing. yea, it's expensive, but the rooms were spacious and the beds were the best I ever slept on. Plenty of places to eat out if you wish. I'd go there again at the drop of a hat!
