A perfect weekend
By ,
This was a perfect place to stay and a perfect weekend. We parked our car on Friday afternoon and did not move it again until we left on Sunday. We could take one of the elevators right out of the hotel on River Street or go out the front entrance on to West Bay Street. It was positively a great location. The rooms were very quiet and we found ours to be great! I had read about the "unexplained charges" and was a little nervous before we checked in. They told us about the parking fee (it is a daily charge) but your car is safe and sound. The water in the room is $5.00 a bottle, but they are large and well marked. We took a Riverboat Supper cruise (the food & entertainment was great), did the Segway Tour and a night "Ghost" tour in a horse drawn carriage. I really enjoyed it all but the Segways are more fun than you could imagine! We walked to all of them as well as walking by "The Lady and Sons" resturant.... We had a wonderful time and hope to do it again. Anyone should be at ease going here for a really good time and, if you are wondering where to stay - this is the place!

swimming pool was dirty and very cold
By ,
Good location, helpful staff but the water was cold on the second day of stay also, inspite of me calling a day before to increase the water heat. After entering I saw that the pool water was dirty. In fact for all these it deserves a worse rating

Wedding Weekend
By ,
The staff was amazing! They helped us in every way possible. An out of town wedding can be stressful for sure. The staff helped us in so many ways-it was a lovely weekend! Thanks!

Good location. Reasonable price.
By ,
Good location on the river and near downtown parks. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room rate reasonable considering location. Our fourth floor room had french doors leading onto the patio overlooking the river which was an added plus. This is a convention type hotel, so guests should not expect a bed and breakfast type stay. The $17.95 buffet breakfast was rather mundane and overpriced. Also avoid the little bottle of water in the room which could be had for only $5.00. The patio would have been more enjoyable if it had been smoke free. Those are the negatives. The hotel has plenty of positives, such as cleanliness, staff and location. Would certainly consider staying again.

Nice Hotel
By ,
We moved to this hotel after being very disappointed by our original reservation with the Holiday Inn Mulberry. This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and accomadating. The Hyatt is an excellent central location for shopping, dining, relaxing, and touring in Savannah. All of the hotels in this area are over priced but this was a pretty good deal, all things considered. I would gladly stay there again... if the beautiful bed and breakfasts of Savannah were all booked again.

We truly loved our stay
By ,
My husband and I had eagerly anticipated this trip for months and became concerned after reading some of the reviews. I called the night before we were to arrive and spoke to the night manager, Mr. Patel who was wonderful. I asked about the charges mentioned in reviews and about our room. He really went to great lengths to make ours a wonderful experience. The room, balcony, hallways, elevators, lobby and restaurant were all very clean, very nice. The bathroom was a bit small as reviews noted but there is a small table and mirror right outside the bathroom where I was able to put on makeup and do my hair while my husband showered. It was not a problem at all. We were there during St. Patrick's Day and overlooked River St. We had a beautiful view of the Savannah River and River St. It was a bit noisy the night of St. Patrick's Day but was much quieter than we expected knowing the size of the crowd. The noise came from River St., not from inside the hotel. We also spoke with the concierge man Phil beofre and during our stay and found him most friendly, helpful, and courteous. He knows Savannah! He helped us arrange a shuttle from the airport and bleacher seats for the parade and did not benefit from helping us at all. I mentioned that and he said he was happy to help make our stay memorable and that was enough. We did not encounter any Hyatt employee or anyone else for that matter that was less than very friendly and helpful. We flew in and did not rent a car so did not experience the valet situation. The one suggestion I might make is that the reservation people not located in Savannah could have communicated information better. It all worked out fine but they missed providing a lot of information. We will stay at the Hyatt again but will call the hotel itself next time instead of going through reservations and I will try to speak to Mr. Patel. I do also recommend keeping an eye on rates after booking as ours went down. I called and recieved the lower rates. For the dates we were there, the view, the room and large patio like balcony on the 7th floor, the hotel was worth every penny. The extra charges the reviews spoke of are pretty easy to figure out. I asked and was told. At check-out, the extras cost me less than $ 2.00. We had a hot spot so did not use the wi-fi, we did not use the bottles of water in the room, and we did not use the room telephones except to call the front desk. Thank you Hyatt for a lovely stay and memory! Dan and Lauren Ohio

Hidden charges
By ,
True the hotel was nice. What the problem was; I incurred fees that were not explained to me in any form. These fees are assessed at a hotels discretion. This caused much grief with me and my bank. Please make yourself aware that this can happen to you!

Fancy, but too expensive!!
By ,
The hotel was fancy, but always had to pay extra for everything. It's ok if your not on a buget. The pool was filthy. For as "fancy" as the lounge & reception area the rooms were small & bathrooms were small. The vallet was nice but too expensive also. Was not worth the $$$.

Will definetely go back
By ,
My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt on easter week-end and loved it. Mary checked us in and gave us a river view room and it was quite lovely. The staff at the Hyatt was very nice. Very clean place to stay. I would recommend the Hyatt to all my friends and relatives. Can't wait to go back.
