Cove on Ormond Beach, Ormond Beach

After reading the reviews from the others I was very concerned about my reservations that I already had planned, but after arriving my fears were relieved. I can not say enough good things about the staff, each and every one of them that I came in contact with was nothing but courtious and would go out of their way to be helpful. Our room was exactly what it was supposed to be, a two bedroom with 2 baths, a kitchen, and of course a living room. The unit was very clean and well decorated. Being an owner of time share we use condo's all the time and I would have to place this one on the top of the list. The pool area is outstanding for the children and the beach is only steps away from the back door of the condo towers. I am already planning a trip back for next year!!

As we entered our unit, there was a bad smell like someone had cooked some type of seafood. The maid service had left the sliding glass doors open, so she was aware of the smell. We asked to be moved, but the lady at the desk said there were no vacancy, but we will send maid service to clean again. No one ever showed up. So we went to store and got cleaning supplies ourself. Mop, cleaned kitchen all over and bathrooms. Smell was bad. Our air condition never did cool our unit. We complained about that. They finally sent a maintenance man to our unit. He told us the chillers were not working. The last day we were there , the air condition started to cool. The pool was great for the little ones.

I have been a timeshare owner for sometime and have trade out to a lot of condos. This one has to be the bottom. Problems started at check in. Called twice in two weeks prior to check in to ensure rooms was as requested. Staff stated was as requested. Arrived and room was not what was requested and condo was booked. Instead of the two room, one queen bead and two full, we had one queen and one full. Staff did comp us a roll away bed, but was very uncomfortable. Parking was really bad and hard to get into. Was scheduled to have towel exchange on Tues and Thurs but no staff came around. Upon check in front desk stated I had to speak with timeshare desk and staff member informed I had to attend a meeting with them and I informed her I was already an owner and did not have to attend anything. We were issued green arm bands to ensure only "guests" used pools and beach equipment, but people from other condos and just drive on beach people used the pool, slides and beach items. Staff members were friendly, but not available most of the time. Rooms were small. Had to unplug phone in room due to phone calls starting early in morning informin us of cookouts at the pool for a price. Everything was a charge. First condo we have been in without a gift shop or conciege. Cable did not work on first day, elevators were very slow and our bathroom door would not lock. Maint never arrived to repair the week. We have a wonderful home condo in Kissimmee and exchanged to be on beach. Will not go back to Cove. Do yourself a favor and choose another location.

The jetted tub was child-size very small. One of the only hotels without an outside heated pool. Be carful booking. rooms are slight-ocean view more parking lot view...not ocean front. They say heated pool but its heated by the sun..lol The price is very high and you dont get any maid service. they charge for absolutely anything you might need. You will be hit by time share right off the bat. Your on your own here... Beware! lots better deals in the area.. (also not enough parking when booked.)

i went and tought it was great... i might go every year..loved it and recomend it to anyone...the view and service was very good

After a 6-7 month reservation, we were not given the correct room and were told to "take it or leave it." TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT by the manager herself. Other customers were treated similarly and employees mentioned how this was common treatment. BOYCOTT THE COVE.

My wife, daughter and I stayed last year (2008) on an Interval Intenational exchange and had a great time. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I have read many of the reviews and their complaints but one must understand this is a time-share not a hotel thus room service is not provided. With washers in the rooms I found no issues with towel exchanges...we simply put some in to wash will sitting on the beach or down by the pool. We will be goinf back the end of August 2009 and can't wait!! I must say the only downer is that the pool closes at dusk....but that is okay with us good reason to get my daughter out of the water for a while :)

well if you have kids it's a great place. non-smoking and the pool is only 3ft deep! Something they do not tell you before staying there!!!! Not to happy since me and my friend are 25yrs old and wanted to go for a good time. IT"S VERY KID FRIENDLY!!!!!! the rooms are very nice and it's high on security... great for families!

As an Owner for over 15 years, I must defend The Cove. The South Tower is beautiful.The North Tower is great, too. The South Tower came second, and of course is much newer. The location is great. I cannot imagine what LOULOU expected, and/or saw- but this is not The Cove that she described. I realize that each person's expectations are unique and can be quite different, but calling The Cove "a dump" is just wrong. The furnishings are new, plasma TV's (with ambient lighting, really cool) the whirlpool tub, the washer/dryer, the private balconies, the layout of the floors, the public areas, the outdoor pool, the room sizes, the views of the ocean, and the overall resort- all are great. As owners, we are extremely happy with the upkeep, the staff and the property itself. Remember, as stated, The Cove is a timeshare, not a hotel. Be glad that we Owners share our piece of Ormond Beach with you at such inexpensive rates. We will be headed there again in 3 weeks- and happily so.

I think "LOULOU" needs to stick to her 5 star resorts. I have stayed in several types of hotels and resorts and hae experienced "dumps". This place is far from being a dump. It was very clean and I was very impressed with our room. We also stayed in the south tower. We had a full kitchen, nice sized living room, separate bedroom, and a very nice sized bathroom. The chairs by the pool were in good shape. I did not see any of them falling apart. As fas as the beach - it's not the hotels fault if the water is rough - it's the ocean for cyring out loud!!!! My biggest complaint would have to be the pool itself. It is great for kids, but there really isn't anywhere for adults to swim. I think the deepest part of the pool is about 3.5 feet deep. The pool water was a little cool, but not unbearable. I would definitely stay there again.
