I would rather sleep on the street
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/09
To start with the some of the lights in the walk ways were burnt out when I arrived at 2:30 am unfortunatley I could still make out the garbage on the ground every where I walked. The desk clerk, no teeth in and in her nighty sent me to one of the farthest rooms where there is no security I had to take a shakey elevator that opened up to a lightless hallway. A couple crack heads outside the hotel. I opened the door and it must have been 200 degrees in there. I was to afraid to leave the door open and cool it down so I took a cool shower. the next morning I woke up 10:30 am all balooned from the heat. There were sirens and guns drawn at the room accross from me where some guy had tried to comit suicide. I went down to the desk to complain in the light of day that the heater would not shut off. She told me all the rooms where connected and someone had complained they were too cold so she turned on the heat and apparently their is only cold and hot thermastate and it is controled at the desk. Now lets talk about how dirty it was I have never I mean never stayed in such filth in all my life. I was charged $200. for 3 night stay and when I arrived the sign on the board in front of the hotel said $38. a night. Big difference when you book on line and get a room in person. The fridge was a rust bucket. the stove was filthy. The had one pot in the cupboard not even a lid to go on it. No kettle basiclly they didn't have anything you could use. The carpets looked like and smelt like pee. In the bathroom oh my god it was so dirty. The tv did not work for the 3 days I was there I complained every day and they sent a maintaince man and he said this tv never did work in this room because the cable is too old. They had the nerve to give me a 2 day complementary stay for the next time I am in town. Wow I will jump all over that one.

WARNING! HEALTH HAZARD!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/08
Disgusting. -When we arrived, staff informed us that back door doesn't lock. Went to room... carpet was WET and filthy, windows (w/out screens) were open, & a/c was unplugged & had no cover. Staff informed us that the a/c worked too well, thats why it was unplugged. -So we went to the beach for approx 3 hours to allow the a/c to cool the room. When we returned the a/c still did not work, in addition to it sounding like a jet plane (not kidding). Linens on bed STANK and appeared dirty! Toilet and shower were rusted and diseased looking! Tried to cancel and Seaside wouldn't release first night. Had to pay $70+ for dump we couldn't stay at. Went a few hotels down and stayed in a suite for $20 more! Don't make the same mistake we did! It's not worth the trouble! Today I found out they have been charging my credit card additional fees since we left! The place is a mildew-infested, filthy, slum, that is sure to give you a headache! These pictures are grossly re-touched and I seriously doubt the room views are even the same place! My advice: if your going to Daytona Beach, just wait til you get there and book anything in person. Alot of the hotels aren't listed in online hotel searches and are LUXURY compared to here, and many are actually CHEAPER!!!

WOW!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/08
I have never been in such a place in my life and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. This place was so nasty I was afraid. I chose to slept in my clothes under just the sheet. The blanket and top comforter were so filty I was afraid to touch them. I found a pair of shoes under one of the beds and by the layer of dust on them they had been there for quite awhile. The bathroom floor was like walking on the sand on the beach and there was even some kind of wooden built contraption holding up the sink. The place looks half way decent on the outside but on the inside is just about condemable if your rating by cleanliness. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/07
The location is very good. Nice place for young people. I am 32 and bars are close the room is cheap and the ocean is right out your door. Floor is very dirty. This is the same hotel I stayed in for my high school spring break. Even being older, it is still in a prime local near all the good spots to bring your family or a fun weekend with your friends.

We will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/24/06
This place (can't even call it a motel) was horrible. It took us at least five minutes to open our door every time we tried to enter. Another guest had to help us because he had the same problem. The carpets are stained. There were dead bugs between the plastic coverings on the lampshades over the beds. The blankets and bedspreads were worn thin. The air conditioning knob was broken off, so there was no way to adjust the air. The walls were peeling in the bathroom. The room looked like a jail cell. By the morning, we couldn't get the remote to work. It had a nice sized closet, which we thought about sleeping in since it looked cleaner than the rest of the room. There were guests sitting in the corridors drinking beer and eating chicken at 8:00 in the morning! There were chicken bones and garbage strewn all through the parking lot. Parking was so tight, we moved our car to the parking garage across the street. We didn't dare swim in the pool, or walk in our bare feet. We were so disgusted and so glad we were only staying one night. On the plus side: There was a nice view of the ocean. Oh, we only SAW one roach. It was a baby, so I'm sure there were more. I did check for bed bugs and didn't find any. I will read the reviews about every hotel before I book in the future. HEED THE WARNING!

Great time for low price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/06
I like the reasonable rates. The rooms were old, but cleaned. The staff was friendly. The ocean views could not be beat. I had read several negative comments about this older hotel.I did not see one issue to complain about. We are planning on staying here again,

wicked view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/05
We stayed here 'on spec' last year having had a voucher in a room saver brochure and just drove in off the street. Sure the reception staff were brusque but were obliging. The room had the most fantastic view over the Atlantic and the view of the Trump Hotel was great too. Good parking and the room was quiet. We had no bad experience with noise from the pool. Beachside location is fantastic. Room was a bit dated ...but soooo many 'family' run hotels are 'jaded' on this coast. Our kitchenette was clean, beds comfortable and the TV worked!! Great location would stay again. 8/10
