Howard Johnson Inn/ Tampa, Ybor City, Tampa

We have just got back from a stay at the Howard Johnson Inn Tampa Ybor City and we had a lovely time. I thought I would put a few points based on our experience at the hotel. We were very impressed with check in. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeting by a very friendly lady. She helps us to check very fast and provided all the information related to the Hotel and Local attraction. The front desk staff was very Professional and Courteous. When we enter the room, WOW! The first thing we noticed was the Huge Smooth Bed, well maintained and appointed room. The room was equipped with a hairdryer, TV, iron, ironing board, Mini-Fridge and microwave. The lobby was well maintained and decorated. The Hotel is easily accessible to Malls, Shop and Restaurants. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Do you have kids? Stay away from this place.... This is not for family.. We styed there after Daytona-500, to save some $$ Area is wild.. no security, poor lighting... service is okay but very scarry and be aware if some one knock on your door. Be alert. that's it...

Not a good neighboorhood. The rate of the hotel was not worth it. The ice machines did not work. I had to go to a not so safe gas station that was near by to get ice. Plus people walk all night long. The room was dirty and the sheets had stanis. I felt so uncomfortable, I did not take a shower. I was glad to leave the next day. I will not return.

The price was great! The staff was friendly and responsive and the courtyard was beautiful. Yes, the property is old yet it is well maintained and under renovation from new management. I would recommend it to all travelers looking for a good rate and good product with great service

I will not return to this hojo.More people are living in this hotel then there are people staying here. If I had children I would have immediatly left. This hotel is in a bad neighborhood.

The place is trapped in time, the building looks okay from a distance as you come upon it, when you go inside you know its never been remodeled since it was built, I had to wear shoes everywhere, I did not dare take them off especially in the shower. They have no smoke alarms and the plug outlets are a fire hazard. They only have stairs and your afraid to leave your room. I heard gun shots out front while I was there . . . ghetto, I think the carpet is so dirty it is saturated like theres mildew or something in it. If you're smart stay away from this place. And trust me I've stayed in some not great places, but this took the cake . . . I will never stay in a Howard Johnson again.

This is by far the worst excuse for a hotel I have ever seen. Broken sinks and missing plaster. Rodent feces on the floor. An extension cord used to tie off an area that was damaged.

Every day was great here. I had great service they never disturbed me.I was able to get peace and quiet. I will be returning, was very satisfied and also location was great.

This was the worse hotel we have ever stayed in, I think I would have been better off sleeping in my car. It was dirty, no towels, lots of noice, smelled bad, rugs were nasty, bathroom not clean it still had stuff on the floor from the people that stayed before. I would not stay there ever again and if you don't have to DON'T!!!
