Chase Suites Hotel Tampa, Tampa

After driving nine hours, the first thing that occurred upon check in was to be insulted by a representative of management related to our home state. Then the room had no frying pan and there was a poorly repaired hole in one wall. We informed a maintenance person and a representative at the front desk. We were given the frying pan, but the hole in the wall was still there when we departed two weeks later. Also, a representative told me that, since we were staying long-term, we would only be receiving maid service every four days. A placard in the room clearly stated that the room will be cleaned daily. There is no distinction between short and long-term stays. My wife called the company headquarters in San Diego to provide the above information, and was told we would be receiving a return call within 24 hours. Three days later we are still awaiting a response. The hotel itself is fairly nice, but not maintained with attention to detail. There are other options in the Tampa area.

I've stayed at many hotels in Florida and in the U.S. and this hotel is by far the best I've stayed at. The staff is friendly and wonderful and the rooms are all clean and cozy. I stayed a week and only planned to stay two days.

We arrived and checked in. Immediately noticing that the smell of Mildew was horrendous, I contacted the desk only to be told that nothing else was available. We attempted to make the best of it. We spent the afternoon at a nearby beach and returned to the hotel to relax. Right away we found we could not. We again attempted to request a room change as there were many rooms with no lights, we hoped that there may have been a cancellation. Still we were told that nothing was available. The smell was so bad that we moved all of our luggage in the car to keep it from absorbing the mildew smell. We could not stay in that room and management was unable to assist us. As a result of the final game of the American League championship, I attempted to find another hotel. We were unable to find something else near the airport. Thinking that somehow we would survive this, we returned back again, to go to the pool. A 7:30 PM, The pool was cold, lights were out and the hot tub was in excess of 110 degrees. Rather than returning to the smell, we sat out on the patio until 10PM. Finally, completely exhausted, we decided to go in and try to sleep through the odor. The smell and our allergic reactions, kept that from happening. We struggled all night to sleep! Not only did the room smell, the bedding smelled like sour wash! Sometime after 2 AM and wiped out, we finally drifted off for less than an hour. Suddenly, I jumped off of the bed itching to find my legs covered in insect bites. BEDBUGS!!! I then went to the bathroom to run cold water on my legs and as soon as I hit the lights cockroaches scattered across the floor. We had enough!! We could not take any more of this and left the hotel at 3:40AM and sat at the airport until my daughter’s 10 AM flight left. We were even forced to dress in the airport restroom. Aside from the insect bites and sinus problems, I tried to make a special weekend for my daughter and it was completely ruined by false advertising and incompetent management of this facility. This property should be closed!

Great place, clean, lots of room, great location for vacation stay, pool was perfect for our family. We came off the road from a less than perfect stay in Daytona beach, very impressed with the free upgrade we were lucky enough to be offered.

Looks better than it is. The best thing about this place is the shuttle service from the airport. The front desk staff was not very friendly, cold attitude, was not a pleasant welcome. The room provided is classified as a suite, but it's about the size of my living room.The housekeeping must not include vacuuming the carpeted floor, and Ugh..the cloth covered soiled sofa was just plain nasty!! I will never go back and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I had to relocate to another hotel and pay a little more but it was worth it to get out of the Chase.

We signed up for the ship to shore package before our cruise. With 6 in our party we reserved a 2 bedroom suite. The shuttle service was wonderful, the location was great for the airport and the cruise ship and the continental breakfast was great. Internet use in the lobby with easy access. The stay was wonderful and we will return again!

Upon checking in I was given an ashtray and told I could smoke in the room's balcony. After I checked out my card was charged 224,00 for smoking in the room. When I called they say that the room had the smell of smoke and management was out for a week. I explained that I did not smoke in the room but in the balcony as instructed. They could not help. Use caution when staying here.

This hotel/suite is a great place to stay if your traveling to a cruise port. Included in our package was a round trip ride to/from the port. The friendly staff is more than happy to assist you with your needs. They have a shuttle driver Dean who is quite friendly and knows the area. The rooms are remodeled and make you feel like you are staying in your own studio apartment, nice and cozy. I've stayed here twice now and plan on going back next December. The only draw back is there is only one restaurant, Bahama Breeze, which is a great place for Mamaritas.

My family has stayed at the Chase Suites in Tampa many times with our soccer team and also when we had to evacuate last year (2004) for Hurricanes Frances and Jean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Working with Kathryn Allen, Sales Mgr. of the Chase Suites is always a pleasure. SHe is always helpful and accomodating, especially with the soccer team reservations. We look forward to our next stay there. The Reiters

As soon as we drove up, we felt as though we were going to be staying in a little condo instead of a hotel room. Upon entering the room, we again had this feeling. The location is perfect, and many rooms look out onto the bay. Right across the street is the beach and nearby are great places to eat. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will make the same choice in the future.
