9 reviews for Conch House Marina Resort, St. Augustine
This review is only for the restaurant.
By Amanda, 04/13/09
I spent the weekend in St. Augustine with my husband and another couple. The couple we were with had friends that live in St. Auggie and they highly recommended The Conch House. I was really excited when we arrived because the restaurant does have a wonderful atmosphere. The outside seating is very nice, right on the water and there was a band playing. We were told that the wait would be 20 minutes for outside, no biggie. However, 20 minutes turned into nearly 50. Understandable. However, after we were seated it took the waitress quite some time to address us and ask for our drink order. After about 15 minutes our drinks finally arrived and we had some questions about what to order for dinner. She had to go back to the kitchen not once, but twice to make sure that what we ordered was still available. This is when the major issues begin. After placing our orders and after she brought us the soups and salads, we never saw her again! We waited for our food for nearly an hour and a half! We had to get up and approach another staff member for drink refills and to check on our bread. After such a wait the manager comes over to our table and says that she's really sorry but the jerk chicken that two of us ordered was not available. She offered to make something else but after waiting almost 2 HOURS with such poor service we were all really pissed and ready to leave! Needless to say the service was super slow and super horrible! However, the soups and salads were good, so if you can manage the long wait, the super slow service, and hopefully they will have what you want to order you might like this place! Oh...and beware of roaches if you choose to eat outside on the deck. One table across from us requested to move because there was a roach on the umbrella in the middle of the table. They did get moved, but the roach was left and the hostess seated another party there as soon as the other party left without even cleaning up the table or clearing their drinks!!! Okay, good luck! I hope your experience turns out better than ours!!! :-)

Lots of Fun!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/09
My husband and I stayed in room 15 and it was clean and peaceful, out on the dock we had a blast watching all the live bands and the reggae bash was so much fun. We can't wait to return in May.

BEWARE
By Brodie N, 08/30/08
Horrible place, roaches running everywhere. Managers very snappy and rude. Food is overpriced and the smell of the resort puts of a stench of sewage. Stay away.

rooms overpriced!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/07
Our second visit there. The staff was great!! Our food was great!! Location great!! We stayed in a room across the street and it needed updating to be charging $150.00 per night. The lighting was horrible. I had to open the door to put on makeup. We had to dry our hair outside the bathroom because there was no outlet in there. The furniture was from a consignment shop and we were charged Marriott prices, go figure. Our door barely closed for the door plunger to go into the door facing. The yard needed cutting.Did not feel safe there!!

What a perfect get away from the world.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/06
I have to tell you that my husband and I visit St. Augustine about 4 times a year and every time we stay at the Conch House Marina Resort!! The Conch House is a perfect place to forget about the rest of the world. There is so much to do there that you really never have to leave the property. The rooms are so quaint that you never want to leave them. They have no phones or internet connection so that you can have a real vacation with out being interupted. The restaurant is amazing. The chef's prepare one of a kind creations that are to die for. For drinks you can walk about 50 feet to the middle of the dock and have a fantastic cocktail on the water while listening to live music on the deck. They also offer jet-ski rental, boat rentals, fishing charters and much more. It is the most amazing place to find your self again with out all of the hustle and bustle of the world.

Perfect little tropical hideaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/05
Our recent stay at the Conch House was our second. We found it by accident the first time and by choice the second visit. We stayed in room 1--a ground-level suite that looks out on the pool. The view out our window was a vacation for the eyes and inside, we felt like we were in a 1940's bungalow--tastfully decorated and very clean and comfortable--but not so modernized. It was like turning the clock back to simpler times. We had carry out twice from the restaurant--we loved our room so much we chose to eat there--and the food was absolutely delicious. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Bad experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/05
When we visted the Conch, it was the worst service I have ever had. We were sitted very quickly. However, it took someone 15 minutes to come get a drink order, then another 10 minutes to get them. After we ordered our dinner, it took 1 hour to get our dinners. By this time my husband was ready to go. When we asked to see a manager it took 10 minutes to get him to our table. Then he proceeded to argue with my husband that it did not take 1 hour to get our food. The manager did nothing and called my husband a liar. As that enough for you! Do not eat here!!!

a little good and a little bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/05
I thought the atmosphere was great. The servers were slow and not helpful. The drinks were very good. I won't go back to eat but If I want a drink I will go back for the atmospere. I enjoyed Tavern on the bay for atmosphere, Food, and drink. Its on the bayfront. Great value.
