This review is only for the restaurant.

I spent the weekend in St. Augustine with my husband and another couple. The couple we were with had friends that live in St. Auggie and they highly recommended The Conch House. I was really excited when we arrived because the restaurant does have a wonderful atmosphere. The outside seating is very nice, right on the water and there was a band playing. We were told that the wait would be 20 minutes for outside, no biggie. However, 20 minutes turned into nearly 50. Understandable. However, after we were seated it took the waitress quite some time to address us and ask for our drink order. After about 15 minutes our drinks finally arrived and we had some questions about what to order for dinner. She had to go back to the kitchen not once, but twice to make sure that what we ordered was still available. This is when the major issues begin. After placing our orders and after she brought us the soups and salads, we never saw her again! We waited for our food for nearly an hour and a half! We had to get up and approach another staff member for drink refills and to check on our bread. After such a wait the manager comes over to our table and says that she's really sorry but the jerk chicken that two of us ordered was not available. She offered to make something else but after waiting almost 2 HOURS with such poor service we were all really pissed and ready to leave! Needless to say the service was super slow and super horrible! However, the soups and salads were good, so if you can manage the long wait, the super slow service, and hopefully they will have what you want to order you might like this place! Oh...and beware of roaches if you choose to eat outside on the deck. One table across from us requested to move because there was a roach on the umbrella in the middle of the table. They did get moved, but the roach was left and the hostess seated another party there as soon as the other party left without even cleaning up the table or clearing their drinks!!! Okay, good luck! I hope your experience turns out better than ours!!! :-)
