Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, Tampa

it is really bad there and it smells really bad it is not good the food is bad the sheats smell it is stickey i will give no tips

I was surprised with the price which is low for a Hyatt (around $150 per night). The hotel was very clean but we had some problems with the wait staff at one of their resturants. Also the parking garage messed up our GPS system.

After spending a week near St. Pete Beach seeing to the care of an elderly relative whose health is failing, we dreaded the hectic morning drive-time crossing of the Howard Frankland bridge to catch an early morning flight in Tampa back to Detroit. An accident on the "Howard Frankenstein" can result in a missed flight. Why not book into a hotel near the airport the night before, we thought ? We got a good Sunday night rate at the Grand Hyatt, and what a coup that turned out to be. After we "self parked", the reception desk staff took pity on our bedraggled selves, and offered us an upgrade (at no additional cost) to a beautiful room overlooking the Bay. We had a cocktail in the lovely lobby bar which had a view of both the classic column accented architecture inside and the hot tub and garden area outside. Dinner in the main floor restaurant was delicious- a piquant pasta for me, and for my husband, his favorite- duck. That night we pulled the drapes open to view the million twinkling lights across the Bay in St. Pete and Clear-water and sat transfixed at the beauty of it all; it was the epitome of serenity. The burdens of that previous week rested a lot more lightly on our shoulders, thanks to that lovely hotel and the very pleasant and accomodating people who work there.

Everything from the hotels atmosphere, the spacious room and the wonderful view, we enjoyed it all and loved every minute. The location was convenient, airport and mall really close by. The service was great too.

Loved everything! We stayed in one of the villa's on the property, it was exceptional. We traveled with our 2 sons, ages 9 and 12, and were treated like royalty. We even had the wonderful opportunity of meeting the hotel manager, Mr.Joseph, he was both gracious and caring. He made us feel like we were guests in his home rather than staying in a hotel. We went to all the restaurants on the property and were greeted with such courtesy and recvd. wonderful service everywhere we went. A wonderful place to stay!!

I recently stayed here for my honeymoon. Instead of staying inside of the hotel, we stayed at their Casitas. The service was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a Shuttle driver when we fist got there named Don that was great!! Being not from the area, my husband and I were a little unsure of what outings to do. Don recommended some tourist attractions and all suggestions were great!! I would recommened this hotel to anyone. You can't beat the service!

Excellent location right next to the Tampa airport. Friendly and professional staff. Very tasteful and clean lobby, rooms and amenities. I was surprised how quiet the room was (We had a room that faced the Airport which was across the highway). Rooms were not large or opulent, but very comfortable. Only problems I had was that they did not provide a writing pad and pen and even though we turned the air way down at night, it did not seem to cool down as much as the thermastat indicated. We were on the third floor, so maybe the higher floors would be better. I would recommend if you get a good rate -- Try priceline and you will probably get this one for 4 stars in the "Westshore/Airport" area.

I loved the stay...great location and great service!! I always stay at Hyatt...Really nice room...and really really nice bed. Really nice entrance and good ice...hehe

There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the Hyatt. I'm not sure why the other review's had anything negative to say because I read the reviews and i had some concerns going in (prior to reservations). First of all, Troy at check-in was polite, gave us great infromation about the hotel and offered glass of champange upon check-in "hello". The room was very nice and kept up. there were no smells or anything wrong with the room, other than the mini- bar not being stocked. But who is going to pay hotel prices anyways for a bag of chips or hotel priced water. Everyone at the hotel was nice, with bellman that opened the door for you to the drinks and bars on location. the tropical saqlt water pool out by the casitas was excellent for my wife and I. Felt like we were in Hawaii. I have no complaints what so ever and will stay next time I am in Tampa / Clearwater for business / weekend.

The room is great. The shuttle service is very poor. They need more training specially the person that answers the phone for service. I'll be glad to talk to them about this if they get in touch with me.
