Simply Wonderful!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/31/11
I recently stayed here for my honeymoon. Instead of staying inside of the hotel, we stayed at their Casitas. The service was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a Shuttle driver when we fist got there named Don that was great!! Being not from the area, my husband and I were a little unsure of what outings to do. Don recommended some tourist attractions and all suggestions were great!! I would recommened this hotel to anyone. You can't beat the service!

bad shuttle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/5/11
we arrived at the airport shuttle area at 9:30 PM, after numerous calls from us and relatives at the hotel, the shuttle arrived at 10:10 PM. the shuttle ride from the hotel to pool was a complete disaster. 89 degrees, a heart condition , walked most of the time. i begged the maintenance worker to drive me in his golf cart. it was appreciated.. on the plus side. we found everything else to be exceptional. Steve , especially was gracious and courteous , the breakfast and staff were top grade. the room was always clean and orderly; the Indian Wedding was a once in a lifetime experience for us; thank you.

glorified airport hotel
By ryan simpson, 8/11/10
This hotel is located on the side of a highway next to the airport. Sure it is on the bay but many hotels can claim that. Without a car you are stranded and even then you are 15 minutes from anything besides the mall. No free wifi....pools are small, no better than a single family home backyard. Priceline and hotwire rate is regularly $45. Restaraunts are good but not spectacular as the prices suggest. Marriott waterside is newer & in a much better location (downtown right on water) and is walking distance to restaraunts, nightlife, and museums. If you are looking to stay close to the airport there is a brand new Weston across the highway from the hyatt. also, there was a sewage smell throughout the lobby on multiple occassions

Vacationer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/10
Loved everything! We stayed in one of the villa's on the property, it was exceptional. We traveled with our 2 sons, ages 9 and 12, and were treated like royalty. We even had the wonderful opportunity of meeting the hotel manager, Mr.Joseph, he was both gracious and caring. He made us feel like we were guests in his home rather than staying in a hotel. We went to all the restaurants on the property and were greeted with such courtesy and recvd. wonderful service everywhere we went. A wonderful place to stay!!

Enjoyed my business stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/10
There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the Hyatt. I'm not sure why the other review's had anything negative to say because I read the reviews and i had some concerns going in (prior to reservations). First of all, Troy at check-in was polite, gave us great infromation about the hotel and offered glass of champange upon check-in "hello". The room was very nice and kept up. there were no smells or anything wrong with the room, other than the mini- bar not being stocked. But who is going to pay hotel prices anyways for a bag of chips or hotel priced water. Everyone at the hotel was nice, with bellman that opened the door for you to the drinks and bars on location. the tropical saqlt water pool out by the casitas was excellent for my wife and I. Felt like we were in Hawaii. I have no complaints what so ever and will stay next time I am in Tampa / Clearwater for business / weekend.

Might have been "Grand" 10 yrs ago!
By Yahoo User, 10/24/09
This hotel might have been Grand years ago, but now it's dated and worn. It smells bad, nothing worked right in our room, and the only thing more worn out than the room were the unpleasant, non-caring employees who work there. Food was way overpriced, and service terrible. You'd be better off at a Hyatt Regency.

Very good price.
I was surprised with the price which is low for a Hyatt (around $150 per night). The hotel was very clean but we had some problems with the wait staff at one of their resturants. Also the parking garage messed up our GPS system.

Never Grand!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/07
This hotel looks great in the photos - but do not be fooled. despite paying top dollar I was given a room with a view - over the car park! Service was poor, simply not a nice hotel. I would never stay there again - be warned!!!

Best in Rocky Point, Tampa, Florida area
By Al, 6/17/07
A bargain when combining the hotel with flight reservations. Without a discounted method, this hotel, although very nice, becomes somewhat expensive given relatively similar hotels and services elsewhere. Grounds are delightful and the staff is perhaps the best part. EVERYONE, I mean everyone, was helpful, kind and professional.
