A good bargain find

This motel is just that...a motel from the age of the 70's. The rooms are standard two double beds, a TV, bathroom, and vanity area. It was nothing fancy, but very adequate for a base camp in the Tampa area. I would recommend renting a car if you're going to stay here as it's not close to other major attractions. The pool was very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the accomodations adequate. It shows its wear from years of use, but was clean. The views of the bay are very nice. The "beach" is man-made with no access to the water, but adequate for obtaining sun. The sunsets were very nice. The area that it's located in is full of million dollar homes and beautiful boats. Down the street, about a twenty minute walk, was a beautiful nature preserve and beach. The wetlands are abundant with birds and wildlife. The beach is not for swimming, but I enjoyed a daily walk there and really liked the peace and quiet.
In essence, this hotel is not for those looking for a 5 star hotel with spas, guest service and all of the amenities. It is, however, a good bargain find with a good staff and adequate facilities for the price. I would return.
