Longing to Return
By LynnW, 09/24/05
I've been here several times &it is sooo great for those wanting to be away from mass crowds-yet everything you want or need is at this place. I would take my bicycle, and safely ride back to town as the sidewalks are lined with safe families out walking, working or enjoying the beauty around them-walking distance to beach. I sunbathed all day at the pool-was an outdoor bar for refreshments or food,a fabulous restaurant for 5 star dining & mid day chocolate attacks fulfilled. It had the feeling of a private island-and was at the end of the road. I am canceling a cruise to return here for R & R w/o getting on "the big pond"...BTW..I saw my 1st funnel cloud here, which disappeared within minutes & that was an experience for me. I highly recommend this place. Sincerely...a female CWB

Contractors Hotel

Charged twice for the same stay. Food is bad. Does have high speed internet for free in lobby. Do not get a smoking room. Second floor rooms usually better. Still pretty good value for the price.

Honest Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/05
It's not five star, but it's a very honest motel. It's basic, clean and very comfortable with great views over Tampa Bay if you book one of the end rooms. The dining room does a reasonable dinner, but the breakfasts are pretty dire.

A good bargain find
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/05
This motel is just that...a motel from the age of the 70's. The rooms are standard two double beds, a TV, bathroom, and vanity area. It was nothing fancy, but very adequate for a base camp in the Tampa area. I would recommend renting a car if you're going to stay here as it's not close to other major attractions. The pool was very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the accomodations adequate. It shows its wear from years of use, but was clean. The views of the bay are very nice. The "beach" is man-made with no access to the water, but adequate for obtaining sun. The sunsets were very nice. The area that it's located in is full of million dollar homes and beautiful boats. Down the street, about a twenty minute walk, was a beautiful nature preserve and beach. The wetlands are abundant with birds and wildlife. The beach is not for swimming, but I enjoyed a daily walk there and really liked the peace and quiet. In essence, this hotel is not for those looking for a 5 star hotel with spas, guest service and all of the amenities. It is, however, a good bargain find with a good staff and adequate facilities for the price. I would return.

This hotel's view in person and the view on the website are as different as night and day. my family and I were very dissappointed and for the first time ever in all of our years of traveling we did not stay at this motel and we left Tampa so fast we never want to vist Tampa again. I am so thankful I did not have other guest that made reservations with me because i would have felt obligated to pay for the rest of their stay in a different hotel. Unless you want to stay in a ratty dirty looking motel don't do it!!!!!!! Run Forest Run.....
