HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & CLEANING STAFF
By travelgirl, 12/24/11
My husband and I had a TERRIBLE experience at this hotel for our honeymoon in September. To start we had NO idea it was a slow season during the first week of September and everything including their restaurant closed at 9pm with no room service or food service after that! We also had a terrible experience with the maid staff where they did not leave towels in the room after cleaning it or soap, shampoo, ect, when we walked into our room that day our bed was not fixed and the pillows that were so beautifully on the bed the day we arrived were thrown on the floor. We had to call to get towels to be able to shower. We had booked through the hotel a sunset cruise that last minute while on the dock we were told, along with many other couples that it was cancelled because they did not realize a private party was booked that day. All in all we did NOT have a pleasant time at Hawks Cay Resort, and before we left we spoke to a manager who offered us 3 days free to try to make up for our bad experience, yet after 3 months of waiting and consistently calling and speaking to person after person we have still not received any voucher and not even an apology for the terrible experience we had, they have NO customer service! And no follow up procedures to ensure things get done. Only stay here if you want to be stressed and not even have one person try to make it better.

Excellent Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/10
Just got back from Hawks Cay with my husband and 4 yrs. old daughter. We had a wonderful time! The room was beautiful and very clean. The customer service was outstanding from the valet guys, check in, waiters, etc. Everyone treats you like queen and king. If you are traveling with kids, I highly recommend getting a Villa, very roomy and you can cook some of your meals, if not all, in the Villa. Everything you need is located in the resort. Wonderful pools, lagoon, activities for the kids, live music, swimming with the dolphins, and much more. Just wished there were commercial flights into Marathon Airport (which is about 10 miles from the resort) but Key West Airport is about 1 hr. and 15 mins. drive away. It's a straight and very scenic drive so it wasn't bad at all. A lot of people also fly into Miami and drive down (about 2 hours). We can't wait to go back!!

Perfect Winter Get-away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/09
My husband and I stayed at Hawks Cay in January '09. We were delighted with our room and stay at the resort. With the recent renovations the resort was top-notch. Our room had a huge wrap-around patio with views of the ocean and water-ways. It was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The on-site restaurants and bars were fabulous. The many pools, lagoon and dolphin swim area were truly a treat. I enjoyed a fantastic massage one morning while my husband worked out in the on-site gym. We love to travel and rarely visit the same place twice but while sitting on our patio one evening enjoying the sun-set we agreed it was a place we would be coming back to some day with our children. Well worth the money spent.

Great vacation spot!
By Krista and Matt, 4/4/08
We recently spent a few days at Hawk's Cay ... they are just completing a complete renovation of the entire resort .... while a few areas were still under construction, it is absoulutely beautiful! We will definitely be going back. There are so many onsite amenities ...tennis courts, spa, many pools, fitness center, dolphin pool, restaurants ... the list goes on. This is a great vacation destination for the whole family.

LOST PARADISE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/07
we have stayed at this cozy paradise 4 times. 2005 was a dissapointment,we felt this beautiful resort had taken a step back. Resort was not as clean as in the past year, staff was not as friendly. I hope the future facelift will bring it back to what I used to call paradise.

Heaven in the Keys
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/07
Have been to Hawks Cay many times and last summer brought my 3 grandchildren for the first time. They had so much fun. Hawks Cay has everything for adults and children alike. It's such a paradise. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Thank you Susan DeLoof Tiede

BEWARE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/07
I stayed in a 2 bedroom Conch Villa and everyone in my party was eaten alive at night by bedbugs! The resort has a problem with mosquitos too but as a native Floridian I accept that but not the bedbugs. This is absolutely unforgivable in any hotel. I will not stay here again.

Needs facility upgrade
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/07
Stayed April 2007. We were sadly disappointed to find the facilities in much needed repair. The web site photos do not represent the condition of the actual property. On our unit we discovered moldy bathroom, old underwear and socks strewn about the private deck, and two inhabited hornets nests on the railings of our unit. The location could be absolutely beautiful but it appears that ownership is holding off making capital investments needed to return to meeting 3 star or above rating. Service is mediocre. Price is reasonable so if you manage your expectations you may find this a neat little haven but don't expect a 5 star facility.

Fabulous Time!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/07
Just got back from Hawk's Cay for a family spring break vacation. We are already planning next years trip back!!! Great place for families, honeymooners, conventions, just about anything. Read previous reviews and am glad that I did not let them scare me off. Stayed in a villa (pricey but worth every penny), we extended our vacation by another 3 nights because we were enjoying ourselves so much. It is truly a Caribean experience state side!! Hate to give such great reviews because we want to make sure that there is availability for next spring. Hotel rooms are going through extensive renovations and are expected to be greatly improved so don't let that cloud your decision for future travels to Hawk's Cay!!
