Great Time
By Sally, 3/13/12
Had a wonderfull stay. The place is clean and comfortable. Not a corporate resort (and we liked that). The owners and staff were super nice. The cottage we stayed in had a kitchen which was a big plus. Love hanging out at the Tiki hut on the dock. Made good use of the fish cleaning table also. Many good restraunts and bars close by. Stay here to undwind, you won't regret it. See you next year!

Great no weight limit pet friendly hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/11
Great location, beautiful views, the owners were very friendly and interacted well with the guests. The hotel was way nicer than I thought it was going to be after reading some of these reviews. Our room was very simple, but also very clean and well maintained. This hotel is on a very small piece of land right on the Atlantic, just 2 blocks north of the Tiki Bar. Super location....but it's NOT a resort. So if you're looking for a resort, some place to hang out at the Keys and spend time, this is NOT the place. This place is great if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great spot with nice owners who are present the entire time and are very sociable and friendly. My girlfriend and I left Yogi, my 75 pound Doberman, in the room while we went to rent some jet skis. He was barking for me when I first left the room. I looked at the owner and saw the expression on her face like "Oh, boy. That monster is going to chew holes through the wall", so I told her how good and well behaved he is and gave her my cell phone and told her to call me if she got worried. No sooner did I say that, that Yogi stopped barking and probably passed out on the bed (we brought our blanket from home so he wouldn't lay on their bed spread). Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that friendliness and kindness works both ways. I think they saw that I was a good natured cool guy so they treated me the same. This place is definitely going to be our home down in the keys. I look forward to many more weekends there with my girl AND my dog. (PS...she has 2 Boston terriers that we're going to come down with soon) :) Tom

Just OK and needs work
By Uncle Fluffy, 2/21/11
We stayed for one night and were not that impressed. This was out first time at the Keys and wanted a memorable stay but this place wasn't it. First, our door looked liked it had been kicked in at some point because the jamb and lock was damaged. With the door closed, you could force the door open. The room is older and needs some repair (ceiling plaster cracks, bathroom out dated, patio door was junky). No elevator to get to 3rd FL..so have fun carrying your bags! The ocean-view was nice. A couple of chairs are there if you wanted to get some sun. The pool is old and small. No area to swim at in the ocean so you will need to find a beach access. The pictures on the web show the place fairly well but I guess I misjudged the ammenities. If you are just looking for a place to stay, this might work for you. If you came here on VACATION and want to enjoy your stay....find a resort instead!

My Favorite.
By kymbrough, 3/23/09
I love this property! They kept it "old Keys" style, and you can't beat the view. Staff is friendly, grounds are beautiful, and everything fun is within walking distance. And, you can't beat the price. Love ya Harbor Lights!

best price, best location!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/08
We had a reservation at another hotel down the road but it was dicusting!!!! so we got our money back and drove to Hoilday isles. Thank God!!! We walked in with no reservation and got a room for even less per night and a million times better!!!The room was very clean and cooled to 70 degrees, nice! Newly remodeled big bathroon, big screen t.v., comfortableking size bed with soft sheets. It even had a balcony with table and chairs. we were on the 2nd floor and could see the ocean from the balcony. W stayed two nights and were very happy with the hotel staff, and our room. Best of all the hotel is next door to rum runners!!!
