3rd time visiting
I have stayed at the Sea Spray on 3 occasions and have always enjoyed their "Jazz packages" for a quick 3-day getaway. In the past, the best part was the great value, especially considering the great food that is included in the package. On my most recent visit, we noticed that the food wasn't up to the past standards. We found out that the old chef, who had been there for 20 years recently quit. The breakfasts were good, but the dinners left a lot to be desired. Also, the bed was absolute torture! Quite possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. The plywood under the mattress should have cued us on this. The staff is friendly, but the place is pretty neglected. Evidently, the owner doesn't like to spend money. We saw lots of patched up ceilings in the hallways, probably from leaks after hurricane Wilma. I probably wouldn't go back again after this last experience. It's a shame because it really was a cool, little getaway.
