Real Close to Port of Miami
By Liz, 01/24/10
There was nothing that my wife and I disliked about this Inn. It was located very close to the Cruise Ships. The people that worked at this Inn were courteous, helpful, and the room was clean and decorated tastefully.I would stay at this Inn any time .

Enjoyed Our Stay!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/09
My husband and I stayed in Miami for a few days after our cruise, and The Holiday Inn is where I had read reviews and decided to book our room ahead of time. When we arrived we were early, they upgraded our room to a suite due to the priority club with no charge. The staff was friendly and it was right across from Bayside where you could shop till you drop. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return:)

Do not recommend
By Brenda, 01/29/09
We checked in early so the room was not ready. That was fine - we left our luggage in storage. Later that evening we got the key to our room and the room was dirty. Complained. They sent housekeeping to clean while we waited in the room. I moved furniture so she could vacuum and pointed to the hairs all over the bathroom. When she left I went in the bathroom again to find that she had not changed the towels and they were dirty. Complained again and they brought clean towels but left the dirty ones in the room. Went to print boarding passes and the internet was so slow that it took 45 minutes to print 3 boarding passes. Complained again. It was cold and the hotel had no heat. They offered an extra blanket. Location was what we wanted - but the room was disgusting and expensive.

Fantastic Stay!
By TonyaD, 07/29/08
We stayed at this hotel the day before our cruise as well. Having been up since 3 am to catch a flight to Miami, I was concerned that we would have to wait until 3 pm to get into our room. The staff was great, they had a room ready for us and we were able to get in early and relax before going to Bayside Market right across the street--the room even had a wonderful view of the port. We were able to do some light shopping, eat at the Hard Rock Cafe, and watch the boats at the port. Breakfast the next morning moved along very efficiently and I was surprised how quickly we got in, considering it was a small dining room. The food was great as were the staff. They even have a luggage room to store our bags after we checked out and went to the mall area again before we could board the ship. We were very happy with the location and the ease of getting around and having our needs met--overall fantastic stay.

Can't wait to go back!
By ju-ju, 02/20/08
We stayed here before our cruise and the first room was not the best view, the room itself was beautiful, but this was to be a special 'night before' in Miami. I decided to ask if they had something with a better view....I am so glad that I did, it was the so beautiful, watching the ships come and go with the anticipation of our first cruise! The marketplace was a great way to spend the evening before! We ate at Bubba Gump's across the street (YUM) and afterward had a caricature made, listened to some live entertainment, all within walking distance from the hotel! I would definately stay here again and ask for the same area! The breakfast buffett was great as well! I will always remember our lovely view from across the street! Noise? What noise!!

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/07
We stayed at this hotel 2 days prior to our cruise in Oct 2007. We were alittle worried after reading some of the reivews but we were plesantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel was clean, room was very clean and modern, pool area was good and the hotel is just across the street from Bayside Marketplace which is an excellent "tourist" shopping/restaurant area. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast with coffee "to go" which we enjoyed. We requested a room on port side to watch the ships and had a room on the fifth floor but higher up would have given a better view. We would definitely return.

11-TIME VETERAN LODGER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/07
I won't repeat the information already given. Suffice it to say that this is THE hotel of choice for anyone (except the rich and/or famous) taking a cruise or coming for the Miami Book Fair, as I've been doing for 20 years. I drive down from Ft. Lauderdale, park by 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and don't move my car till 8:30 p.m. Sunday. If you're booking it yourself, you need to book for the November MBFI by March at the latest. Request a room on the 5th, 6th or 7th floor (too low and you get street noise, too high and it's airplanes) on the Bay side (east). I echo the recommendation to join the Priority Club, but note that the $5 off breakfast (a wonderful bargain) is off the total check, not per person. Also note that the restaurant bill includes a very European-like 15% gratuity (which you can dispute or reduce, if you like, since it is a buffet). This is because the hotel has a high percentage of foreign clientele, who were not tipping the wait staff because they assumed that it was already included. Last week, coffee and the all-you-can-eat continental buffet (cereal, danish, croissants, fruits, yogurt, and other cold stuff) was $7.95, and the full breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, and other hot stuff, plus all the cold stuff) was $10.95. This year I paid $98 + tax (a hefty 13.5%) because I booked and paid in full last December. The room was smaller than some I've had in the past, with only one double bed, but adequate for my needs. Last, I'd like to say that this area is completely safe if you're sensible, as you should be anywhere you travel. And I'm a single, female, senior citizen traveler! No fears, mates, just enjoy.

Great pre-cruise stay
By ladydeb, 10/21/07
My son and I stayed there pre-cruise. Although I booked six months in advance, the room they gave us was very small and tight at the back of the hotel. Since it was my son's first cruise, I was hoping for a view of the cruise ships at the front of the hotel. The room was very disappointing for the price I paid. The bathroom was a little dusty and the bathroom door lock was broken. There were a few other quirks with the room, but I was assured by a friend (who'd recommended this hotel) that there are much nicer rooms on the front of the hotel. The entire staff was very nice. As a Priority Club member, I received $5 off breakfast. The breakfast buffet was very good. The to-go coffee at the end of breakfast was a nice tough. Location is the best. We walked across the street to Bayside Marketplace and had dinner outside at Bubba Gump's. We walked off the meal in the mall. There's live music and boat tours available. The Port is just on the other side of the mall. Can't get any closer. All-in-all, I'd stay there again--hopefully in a nicer room. I think the staff being so nice and the breakfast buffet being so good made the difference.
