Super Place!
By ,
The accommodations were fine and the breakfast buffet was pretty decent. The complimentary snack room, open 24 hours, is the greatest perk I have ever seen in a motel! Also, they employ friendly drivers to take you to and from the subway line and to and from various restaurants. I would highly recommend this place!

Great Place To Stay!!!
By ,
This was a great place to stay to visit DC, Alexandria and Mount Vernon. The place was extremely clean and the staff was super helpful and friendly. On the edge of Old Town, it was within walking distance of everything one would want to visit in Alexanria, not to mention the Metro station. The daily breakfast buffet was excellent and the 24-hour snack kitchen was always well stocked. This place is well worth the price and is highly recommended.

Excellent place to stay!
By ,
The Best Western is very clean. The bed was a bit soft, but after the first night I didn't even notice. All staff was very friendly and courteous. I requested a non-smoking room and there wasn't any hint of smoke in the room, this was a big point for me because I have stayed in so called "non-smoking" rooms and have had to request a new room because of the smokey smell. There is a snack bar on the 2nd floor. This was a life saver. There was bottled water, soda, ice cream, juice, milk, chips, cookies, breakfast bars, trail mix, pudding, soups, and coffee.... Do you get the picture? I was expecting a minimal breakfast but there were eggs, waffles, grits, toast, fruit, sausage, bacon, & juice. The shuttle driver can take you "Old Town" Alexandria where there are lots of shops and restaurants. The driver will also drop off/pick up from the metro station to get to different sites in D.C. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

Great Family Hotel
By ,
My kids loved the free snack room, they had healthy snacks and plenty to drink. The free full breakfast was wonderful and was different every morning. The only down fall was getting a shuttle from the Metro Station to the hotel in the early evening, you had to wait a LONG time, it was easier to walk the several blocks than to wait.

Great value for the location
By ,
I arrived with some trepidation after reading a few negative reviews about cleanliness and location. I was pleasantly surprised by a sweet, old-fashioned boutique hotel in a very safe neighborhood. A shuttle leaves every half hour until 9 p.m. for the Braddock Road Metro station (~15 minutes to the National Mall) and to Old Town Alexandria. Not much to do in the immediate area, although there is a grocery store, a Wendy's and a GREAT martini lounge/restaurant (Stardust) within walking distance. Rooms are definitely dated (particularly the bathrooms) but still worth it for the savings. There is also free parking and free hot breakfast. This is a great option for DC travelers on a budget.

Great Staff !!!
By ,
We stayed week of 12/18 to 12/25/05. Breakfast good, especially bacon, eggs, waffle, bagels. The staff was wonderful, free shuttle to/from airport, Old Town Alexandria and Metro Station. Internet room and jacuzzi in fitness room. What we didn't like was attack of bed bugs, manifested at end of stay. Reported to Hotel and they will inspect room and handle accordingly.

Welcome to the roach hotel
By ,
We stayed at the Best Western in Alexandria for July 9 and 10, and were supposed to stay longer, until we came across a very extended family of cockroaches, happily making their rounds about the hotel. Some of these cockroaches were HUGE, many 2 or more inches at length, and what was especially alarming was that dozens of them were roaming freely, in plain view, under the light! Needless to say, we immediately left the hotel. Of course I took several pictures and will be sending them along to Best Western corporate as well as the health department.

Parking is free not like several hotels in the area. We plan on returning to the area in a couple of months and will stay here.
