Worst Ever...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/07
I stayed in this hotel for four nights on a business trip. 1) NO INTERNET DURING MY WHOLE STAY 2) NO RESTAURANT 3) UNPLEASANT SMELL INSIDE THE ROOM THE ONLY THING, THIS HOTEL IS ON US-1. NOTHING ELSE. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE(EVEN FOR MY ENEMY)

Good for families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/06
Last summer, we brought our children to the Westport Inn as a mini-vacation. We stayed on a Beach Package that gave us passes to Compo Beach in Westport. The beach was gorgeous and had a great playground. The Westport Inn was on the pricy side, but very worth it. There was a complimentary wine tasting for the adults as well. Great and knowlegable staff too!

My home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/06
I stayed at the Westport Inn overnight with my husband to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. It has a home away from home experience while still being recognized as being on vacation. A manager even arranged a bottle of champagne in my room upon arrival with a card from the staff welcoming us and wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The breakfast was great the next morning, the Spyglass had fabulous food and a great bar and the staff was friendly and professional. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Simply dreadful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/06
There may be a worse hotel value in the US, but if there is I haven't had the misfortune to stay there. Dirty ( a former guest's crumbs and dirty eating utentials in the bedside table), amatuerish managemnt (problems not corrected after repeted requests) and dated , worn furnishings are the main offenders, but there are plenty others. I plan to come back to Westport, but not the Westport Inn.

The worst
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/05
Sirs: During our 17 day October trip to the Northeast we spent 2 nights at the Westport Inn, October 6 and 7. These were the worst 2 nights of our entire journey, and overnights at some dozen motels/hotels/resorts. Here's our list of complaints (no priority order): * Shower leaked at connection, spraying wildly * Toilet seat was 'wafer thin' * AC didn't cool, setting of 50 degrees barely held temp at 72 * Floors dirty * Closet door off the track * Closet rod held up on one end by ironing board * Loss of power on Sunday for 15-30 minutes * Distinct smoke smell in this non-smoking room * Had to request room make up and clean towels on the 2nd day * Gnats in the room the first night * Front desk uncooperative As you see, we were not satisfied and the 10% reduction in an outrageous price for the above didn't help. As former residents of Norwalk, and with close friends in Westport, we do hope your current renovations call for a total make over of your units and personnel. Am submitting this here because Westport Inn has managed their web site to keep rejecting this email. Maybe Yahoo will forward this to them.

Bad for Business Meetings
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/04
The room was too small and hot. Repetitive loud piano playing in the interior atrium went on for hours. There are no decent public restrooms, so your meeting attendants will have to share the fitness center facilites with wet children from the swimming pool. Food was average.
