Nice Hotel
By ,
Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are nice. No fridge or microwave in the rooms. That's my only dislike of this hotel. For extended stays a fridge and microwave are a must in my book. No free breakfast either. That would also be nice. For extended stays and you'd like to have a fridge, microwave and free breakfast at a Hilton in Groton I recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Groton, CT. Also a nice hotel.

OK

Location is fantastic. The only problem I had staying here was our room was on the ground floor, inside where the pool room was. So if I opened the curtains, people who were in the pool could see us!! What an awful floor plan!! Also, there were two guys still in the pool at 11 pm and could hear them talking so had to call front desk to have them leave. Fortunately the front desk clerk was pleasant enough to take care of that.

Great location, good size rooms, nice furnishings, decent service. Restaurant food was very good; our server Anna, was the 'World's Best'!

Good place for kids and families
By ,
Staff was friendly and very helpful; continental breakfast was good; pool was clean and heated; room was clean and comfortable; next to the Aquarium. They explain in the rooms that, in an attempt to be more "green", they will not change bedding everyday of your stay unless you specifially request it. Not a bad way to go, in our opinion. One drawback was how thin the walls/door seemed to be in our room. We could hear some of the bathroom activity of the people next door and above us, and they, unfortunately, could probably hear our fifteen month old at 5:30AM! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Will never stay again
By ,
To begin...the room service is horrible. They didnt clean our rooms until 4:00pm or later, every day. Which meant we had no new towels for the shower and there were never towels in the pool area. When asking the front desk for towels, they didnt have any either. We had left all of our shower stuff in a joint room($40), which was to be switched to the other room, but never was and actually disappeared and was never to be found, even after contacting room service and the front desk, it could not be retrieved anywhere. We tried to eat at the buffet one morning, and it took almost 20 minutes for any of the 5 servers walking around to seat us. Once seated, we decided on the buffet which didnt have any plates and only a little food left so we ended up leaving and going to DD instead. And the pool, which the kids were really looking forward to is inside wtih no ventilation so you are just breathing in chlorine which hurts, and it is rather small. We were not impressed at all. The holiday inn is only 100 feet down the road and looked much nicer. It is very right across the street from Mystic Aquarium and plenty of places to eat, but I would not recommend staying here for more than one night, if that.

Okay
By ,
The toll free numbers on the phone, they would charge you for it even if you had a Kroger Phone Card. I brought in a small DVD Player and the A/V Outlets didn't work because the pay per view programing blocked it. The rest of the hotel was good.

Just got home and won't go back
By ,
Just returned from spending 3 nights at the Mystic Hilton and was VERY disappoined. The hotel is in the middle of renovations. Plastic walls up around the restaurant, had to eat in the Bar/lounge.Menu looked good but food was all frozen, premade,Expensive.Construction crew inside and out from early AM until evening. Inside of the hotel, all molding and cove base was off. Rooms were outdated. Dirty, stained carpet.Filthy refridgerator. Sagging mattress on the bed. Gross brown stuff coming out of the jets in the jacuzzi tub. The hangers in the closets didn't even fit over the rod, they were to small and kept falling down! The indoor pool was not heated, it was too cold to swim! The indoor spa/hot tub was gone???The exercise room is the size of a closet w/ 5 very crowded machines stuffed in the room. The video games offered on the TV on command service were all casino games, not appropriate for kids. No VCR or DVD player as advertised. In room movies cost $14.99... We would have gone to the Holiday Inn right down the road but they didn't have any available rooms.$200.00 plus per night!Never again! What a dump!!

What happened???
We were looking forward to this stay, as it WAS one of our favorite hotels to visit. Upon arrival, we went to check into our room, and it was evening, yet there were dirty glasses outside our door. Then we found melted ice inside the ice bucket. Unhappy is not the word for this! My son and I decided to go to the fitness center and pool. Fitness center was A-OK, pool was filthy! The chairs and round table were disgusting, I didn't see a clean place to place ourr towels. Additionally, there were candy bar wrappers everywhere, and when I saw the used band-aid under the round table, that was enough! Later my daughter and I went to the bar for a drink. The manager (?) couldn't see the name on the name tag, but she had long blonde hair and name tag appeared to be manager style - was on a long phone call and didn't acknowledge us. When she hung up she actually walked away. It was very strange and disconcerting. It gets better - around midnight we went to the front desk for extra bed linen or a rollaway (we were told a short while prior that there were plenty available). The lady was somewhere behind the desk, she finally came out, and when asked for either linen or a rollaway, she stated housekeeping is gone there is nothing, and that was it. She couldn't be bothered! In the morning, my husband had to clean the inside of the coffee pot in the room, as it was filthy. We will check out another hotel next time we are here. This is too bad, as we really loved staying here.
