Stonehenge Inn, Ridgefield

My husband and I planned to stay here to celebrate our 5th anniversary weekend. We love B&Bs so we were very excited. When we got to the front desk, the check-in guy barely looked up while he was checking us in and acted like we were interrupting his evening. He gave us keys to the guest cabin, and we headed over. When we got to the room, the first thing that hit us was the horrible smell of urine. The room was disgusting - cheap towels, the one chair in the room looked like it had been a attacked by a cat with all of the stuffing coming out, spider webs and bugs all over the bathroom. And everything was decaying - wallpaper, carpet, light fixtures...I didn't even want to sit down! Then, we looked in the linen closet - empty cans of PBR tossed in the bottom and the towels shoved in a dirty corner. We went back to the main house to get online and find another hotel. Fortunately, we were able to find somewhere else and checked out immediately. The desk guy, of couse, told us they would still charge us for the entire weekend (gave us major attitude, saying "well it's not MY fault!"), and the owner would call us tomorrow to discuss. We never got a call, so we are in the process of disputing it with our CC right. I never write reviews, but I really feel it is my duty to warn people not to stay here...I have stayed in nicer Super 8s.

i grew up in the house up on the hill next door and watched the wild life as the waterfall lulled me to sleep. this is a magical place.
