10 reviews for La Quinta Inn Suites Danbury, Danbury
worst hotel ever ( at least in this country)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/09
I stayed may 14/16 2008 i booked through hotels.com and when i arrived they lost the reservation. when i left after two nights i left some valuables in the room and when i called they told me to call back on a weekday. I did and i never received a reply. The mattress were old and i had springs sticking into my back all night and when i look at the mattress under the sheets it was urine stained. i wrote a letter and included pictures of the Mattress and i never received a reply. i stay in Danbury all the time. there are lots of better hotels.

Stayed two times on seperate occassions. Room amenities not in order staff not very friendly. Charged twice on credit card for one stay. Will get refund but from NY so is inconvenience. Will stay in more expensive hotel in area if need be but not here again! Two opportunities to impress me well sorry, you will not get third! Go to super 8!

OK if you don't mind cold or scalding showers
By David, 11/24/05
I ignored previous bad reviews and got less than what I paid for. Wellesley Inn did replace the carpets and mattresses, and the room was clean, but the hot water situation was disappointing. No hot water in the sink and inconsistent hot and cold water in the shower. Not worth the $85 I paid per night. There are better values in the Danbury area, like the Super 8 for $53/night.

Should have kept driving
By Trudy, 09/02/05
The service was rude. The hotel was dirty and the place was falling apart. The springs were poking out of the bed and the wallpaper was hanging off the wall and the sink in the bathroom was broken. We stopped after driving all day and I would have been more comfortable driving all night long than I was in this hotel. Also was expensive and the pool was out of service which in hindsite was probably a good thing. I will never stay at a Wellesley Inn again. I think I could have had better accomadations at the penitentiary we passed in New York.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/05
I recently stayed at this disgusting hotel and was later billed for nonexisting charges. Please check your credit card statement for phony charges.

Disgusting - Do Not Stay!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/05
We had a block of rooms for a family reunion. No hot water, movie rentals did not work, but rude people at desk insisted we must pay, floors were ripped and dirty. Non-smoking room had ashes all over the floor. We wouldn't even take our shoes off. Continental breakfast did not exist, not even the vending machines worked. The desk personnel were rude and unresponsive. They obviously did not care.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/05
7-11-05 our softball team was there for a 2 night stay for a regional tournament. It was disgusting. First of all, we had blocked 13 rooms thinking we would all be together, however, we were all spread out. The desk person was as rude as they get. No courtesy whatsoever. The rooms smelled, the carpets were all stained, the bedding was damp, the toilet ran all night, the shower handle was stuck, the chlorine in the pool was over powering and the pool was dirty. Would never, ever recommend anyone stay there especially when there's a Marriott and a Holiday Inn down the street. Not worth $89.00 a night, that's for sure....... Augusta, ME

Never Again in Life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/05
My group came all the way from Baltimore, Maryland thinking they were going to stay in a nice hotel for our weekend lodging. Our stay at the Danbury Connecticut Wellesley Inn was a total disaster! A. No Hot Water – The sections of rooms my group was assigned to had No Hot Water during our stay. This is in clear violation of health code violations. Your staff stated that the system was inadequate for the amount of guest that was at the hotel. Some guests were assigned to other rooms, but even most of those rooms had No Hot Water. Yes the water was COLD…Not even warm. Many of us had to heat up water in the coffee pot so they could wash. B. Many of the rooms had major plumbing problems. There were stopped up bath tubs, sinks, and toilets. C. No Heat. In some rooms the heat would not work. These rooms were very cold. This hotel is pure trash!

Don't Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/05
I was on a bus trip and I and everyone else disliked everything in the hotel. I don't know where to start from my list of complaints. There were no hot water the whole 3 days I was there. Some of the rooms had no heat. My bathtub was stopped up so I called maintenance. He came up fixed the bathtub but did something to the toilet and the toilet couldn't flush. A friend of mine had no water. Someone's box spring was split with dead bugs in it. The worst of all was duplicate keys was passed out to a family's room. Two people walked in on them and said front desk gave them these keys. Speaking of the front desk personnel, they gave us excuses instead of solutions saying that they did not expect all of these guests so the hotel ran out of hot water. Big excuse and a big disappointment!!!!!!

Big disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/05
I wasn't expecting luxury at the rate I was paying, but this was rediculous. Here is a list of problems within minutes of checking in. Reserved a king bed and got a queen. Could feel the springs in the mattress and when i laid down in it I felt like i was rolling downhill. Room heater did not work. The stove did not work and was missing the knob to turn it on. The burner on the stove was bent, a pan probably would have fallen off. Refrigerator didn't work. Carpet was torn. The girl at the check in counter didn't seem to care. Needless to say we left. We found an excellent hotel at the same rate.
