Jarvis Suite Hotel, Durango

Having two bedrooms was great and the living area with kitchen and overstuffed furniture gave us a place to unwind after a long day on the train and a trip to Mesa Verde. It was quiet and the homemade cookies each evening added to the family feeling. At first the limited space (one table) in the breakfast room. This turned out to be great too as we met other travelers and discussed their plans and experiences. This interaction would not occur if there were individual tables.

I'd give them six stars if I could. This is a very nice place to stay when you visit Durango. The location is central to Downtown and within walking distance of many attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious and nicely decorated. All the rooms now have A/C which is a nice addition. I have stayed at the Jarvis many times over the years and have always found it to be pleasant, clean and a good value! ENJOY!

The Jarvis House is an excellent place for a night or an extended trip. The rooms have a kitchenette and they are comforatable, warm and cozy. Each night there is warm chocolate cookies, my wife loved them, and the location is great. It is right off Main Street with all the charm of an old hotel, without being old. I would recommend this for anyone.

Terrific service from very friendly staff. Location is perfect if you are planning to stay right downtown. There is parking available exclusively for hotel guests. The building is clean and charming. Good continental breakfast every morning and delicious fresh baked cookies every evening that I could smell from my room. I stayed 6 nights in a one-bedroom queen suite and it was very clean and comfortable. Full kitchen including dishes and utensils, small eating table, sofa(bed), cable TV, full bath, and bedroom with a queen bed. Both the bedroom and living area had dressers and each had a closet. If you are staying more than a few nights, ask about their weekly rate.
