Will stay again
Foot of the Mountain is not for those who want the latest high-tech, high-gloss, pampered cookie-cutter lodging. I stayed here in 1960 on my first trip through Boulder, and again in 2005 on a return trip. It had not changed much in 45 years, but is still comfortable, quiet, and absolutely unique.
The bed on my most recent trip was comfortable and the sound of nearby Boulder Creek to lull one to sleep was just what I needed. The bathroom is dated, but in keeping with the rustic nature of the motel. IMHO, this is a perfect romantic getaway, tucked up at the end of Arapahoe Avenue, near the mouth of the canyon. Though there are no restaurants within easy walking distance, nothing in Boulder is very far from anywhere else.
If you are, like I, pulled by being close to Nature, this is the place for you while staying in Boulder.
