Holy Cow a Good Hotel for a Great Deal
Spent one night 10/09 in Colo. Springs on business. A friend recommended Drury Inns to me, and I gave it a shot. I travel a lot but never had tried Drury. I was a bit skeptical and worried about quality because of the low price for my room ($59.00), but boy, was I surprised.
Clean hotel, friendly staff, modern enough room, no problems, whatsoever. The room was comfortable, and although a bit small, was fine. TV was good, internet via ethernet or wireless was adequate. Tons of electrical plugs in room for laptop, phone charger, etc.
The evening reception was a bit low end food wise compared to other nicer chains I am used to (they had cheap nachos, chips, salsa, popcorn-not much substance), But the fact that they offer mixed drinks in addition to beer (I effin' hate Bud LIght, oh well) and several wines is great. I don't drink hard liquor, but you could certainly knock down some drinks if you wanted to.
Breakfast was good, and they had an excellent variety of foods. Checkout was hassle free.
I travel monthly, and stay at a variety of middle class to upper middle class hotels. I am telling you for $59.00, this is likely the best deal I have gotten in years. Highly recommended.
