Overpriced but beautiful scenery
By MiMi, 11/30/09
Beautiful yet lacking sufficient staff. My husband treated me to a surprise vacation at this resort. Four nights in a row there were kids running around all night on the floor above us. When we complained to the front desk, they assured us that the family checked out... but surprise! They booked another family the very next night. The resort had plenty of rooms to move us to but didn't. Very disappointing...

Very beautiful setting would stay again
By Blitz, 07/29/09
At first I was given a room on the very bottom floor of the Cripple Creek section which was kind of dark and scarey for me and my aunt but they quickly gave us a room on the very top and the view was spectacular. Nice view at the bottom too but I didn't want to stay down there. I believe you're paying for the views moreso than the rooms. You'll have to walk alot until you learn a short cut which was shown to me by a very friendly housekeeper named Josephine. If you smoke you'll have to go a long way to get to the smoking area. It cost my aunt and I $63.00 for the Sunday brunch. All I ate was fruit! Very expensive. I regret that I couldn't leave a tip because the food was just too expensive. Maybe the tip was included. There was no microwave in our room. There were two bottles of Fuji water placed in our room at the cost of $5.00 ea. if you drank it. We didn't. Housekeepers did a fine job and everyone was friendly and helpful. It's pretty close to everything so you don't have to eat there. If you're a golfer then you'll love this place but there were lots of families there. Yes most definitely, I'd stay again. And again,

Slow, lackluster service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/09
Dining room service was poor. Everyone at the entire resort was going at their own slow pace and made us feeling like we were bothering them. Food was average, rooms were average. At this overrated motel, only the view of Cheyenne Mountain was outstanding.

Front Desk Help!
By Michael, 07/02/09
Drove in from Denver Intl Airport Thursday for a potential weekend retreat. Visually immaculate and check-in was smooth. Accomodations and view were satisfactory without making reservations. Check-out at for 1 pm- took a morning walk around the complex to gain a better idea about what we wanted to do (beautiful scenery/ climate). Activities require 24 hour advance notice to participate with golf as the exception (plan to be charged an activites fee). As we came upon 1 pm we decided to extend our stay. 3 clerks ; The clerk that acknowledged our presence was preoccupied with another clerk about their weekend. We asked about rooms available for this weekend. Front desk replied, "we are almost full." "Is there anything else I can help you with?:" Therefore, the concierge was very helpful in finding a spa in Colorado Springs off the resort and we decided to travel to Golden and stay at the Table Mountain Inn- in which we had an amazing experience! Check it out online.

beautiful classy resort
By Dexter, 06/03/09
I've stayed here twice and both times experienced top-notch service. Check-in is very easy, the staff is professional, the resort itself is beautifully landscaped. The golf course is great and the food is great. I will definitely return.

Stay Away!
By Daniel, 08/10/08
When I hear the word resort for a place I am to be staying I expect something extraordinary. This place was nothing more than a giant HoJo with a nice lobby area. The rooms were on par with most places in the $75-$125 range, so I guess if you snag a descent deal it's not that bad, but I would never pay anything over $150. The pools weren't too bad, but were often over populated, and only one of the community hot tubs was in service. The "lake" or as I like to call it "the disgusting green sh*t pond" was exactly as I describe it. The service was also so-so with a not quite rude but unfriendly staff. Overall not bad if you're a golfer, but your money is better spent at any one of the local recognizable lodging chains. If you want a resort "The Broadmoor" looked spectacular.

Will never stay there again!!!
By linda, 07/30/08
Upon checking in, the desk clerk had me initial the room rate of $199.99 per night (we had 2 rooms). When I checked out, the room rate went from $199.00 to $249.00 for the second and third nights. There was also a Facilities Service Charge of $15.00 per night per room added. I was told this is for the maid service (our sheets were never even changed). I will never stay there again and would recommend any one that does to read any small print about prices being raised without notice.

Do not go here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/08
Cheyenne Mountain Resort is a rip off. I booked a small conference in February with an estimate on the number of rooms I would need. The conference was in July. I finalized the room count 5 weeks before we arrived and they are charging me for the "shortage" of rooms. Read the fine print in the contract before you sign up with these shysters - better off, go to the Broadmoor or some other quality resort.

The main dining room
By Diggymom, 10/31/07
I took my out of town family to have lunch in the main dining room. They were about to close the lunch buffet and seemed to hurry us along on our choice for lunch. We ordered off of the ala carte menu. The waitress kept refilling our water and mumbled under her breath that the reason our food was taking so long was because somebody at our table ordered their burger medium well! She then tipped over a full glass of ice water into my sons lap! Our food came a few minutes later and with it came the bill because she was leaving. She asked us how our food was and no one had even taken a bite! It turns out that 3 out of 4 of us had a problem with our food but there was no one around to complain to or even order dessert from! We felt rushed and the service was sub standard. I was embarrassed to have taken my out of town family to what was supposed to be a first class resort! I asked to see a manager and all he did was suger coat everything and did not offer a refund, gift certificate or anything.
