Waiting to fall asleep....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
I'm reporting from inside of the Woodfin Suites. It's been 13 days and I can't wait to get bailed out tomorrow. Currently, as I sit waiting to fall asleep, the loud music from the neighboring El Burrrrrrrrio resturante is blasting away. This, however, is only the surface of the mess which is the Woodfin Suites. Granted some items the management may not have direct control over such as the current loud music or the Waste Management people who come every week day between 5am and 6am to wake me up as they empty the dumpster, they do have control over several of the other issues I've experienced. I was told I was in one of the nicer, recently remodeled rooms. True enough, my room has a flat screen TV, but an attempt to turn it on to watch cable TV results in a viewing experience I would expect in a third world country. Only one channel comes in clear. The rest are either some what blurry or just plain horrible. Multple light bulbs are out in my room, one of the wall sockets is hanging out of the wall. Smoke from other rooms filters in through my bathroom vent. I could keep going on and on. I have complained. I sure hope they take to heart the comments that I made. I just can't wait to leave tomorrow. The bottom line is, stay away. Go to another hotel in the area. Try something different. I sure hope the cops come soon to shut up the music at the resturante..... I called them about half an hour ago.

We'll go again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
We brought our Angel, our dog, the hotel did not have a puppy bed as adveristed however, the walking area was very accessable. Clean up bags were available at the desk. My husband is handicapped, the staff held a room on the ground floor, next to the loby with parking in front of the room. Very helpful. Well maintained and very, very clean. Special requests took a little diligence to get what we wanted, no big deal. We will be in the area next week, with Angel. Woodfin will be a little out of the way but, we're staying with them again even though logisticaly it may not be the easiest choice. Very close to freeways, easy access. Everything you need is close by. Great price for accomodations.

Will Definitely Return & Recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/06
Stayed just for one night and wished it could have been longer. My "suite" had a living room with a fireplace & entertainment armoire, full kitchen and the bedroom was very nice. The 'suite' fulfilled our needs and then some. Woodfin also has a sufficient video library and a great breakfast buffet. We were pleasantly pleased with our 'suite!"

Business Travelers Don't get fooled
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/05
Woodfin Suites Newark, Ca, once was a good hotel. But, sadly, they've let the property wear with minimal maintenance. Don't expect to find a DVD player--but they do have a nice library of VIDEO tapes. The whole place is stuck in ancient history. On recent business trips in April and again in May 2005, wild and noisy young men were occupying many of the suites. The night before I had to make a major sales presentation, I had to listen to screaming, loud conversations outside, and non-stop sex sessions easily audible through thin walls well after 11 PM. I'm really not sure where the hotel staff is during the nights, but they are manning the desks during the day. In short, their virtual tour on the internet does not realistically show how this place has worn. The insides of the rooms are not that nice, and they're certainly not comfortable. I'm from Atlanta and I've stayed at hotels throughout California that cater to business people and sleeping. Forget sleeping at Woodfin Suites. What you save in price, you'll pay for in lack of sleep. Sad, because this used to be a good place to stay. Save your money and stay in a "real" hotel when you travel.
