a weekend to remember

My husband and i stayed here at the west beach inn and loved it the staff was nice the location is great and the room is up to date and very clean i would recomend anyone to give this hotel a chance and see for yourselves you'll absoloutly love it here.Our next trip out to Santa Barbara we will be staying here again . Thank you sooo much West beach staff you made our stay wonderful!!!! Sincerely, The Lunas.

Like staying with friends

Beautiful grounds, nice pool and Jacuzzi and pleasant rooms. Parking is convenient. If you are a light sleeper, you might ask for an upstairs unit. The bed was divine, very luxurious. Daily evening wine and cheese assortment and morning offerings very ample. Lots of people to visit with if you are so inclined. I was able to check in before check-in time. Coffee pot in room with good WiFi connection made it perfect for me. I'd come back.

No Accountability

We looked at several Hotels’ for our Anniversary and decided to give The West Beach Inn in Santa Barbara a try. Unfortunately my 2007 Mercedes was keyed during our unrest full slumber by a group of adolescents that the hotel obviously caters too. When I spoke to the Hotel Manager about my horrific experience, she assured me that they would take care of it. Much to my dismay the hotels insurance company refused the claim and I had to foot the bill and pay myself. I will never stay at this Hotel or any of their locations due to their lack of having experienced staff and lack of judgment and accountability.

A Real Value

We had a 4 day stay and were on the first floor. Nicely appointed rooms. No tub, but a nice shower. Big queen beds with different pillows (firm, soft) to choose from. The staff were friendly as well as the maid service. We had plenty to eat from the continental breakfast and later in the afternoon they served wine and cheese. The pool was nice and the jacuzzi was relaxing. We were close to the harbor and within walking distance to the Wharf. The only problems we had was a sulfuric smell coming from the shower after it was used. The staff tried to remedy this with a solution and it seemed to work, however, it returned after every use. The other problem was, on our last night the person above us was marching back and forth like he was in a parade at midnight. It lasted 1/2 hour, then was quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, friendliness, and value.

Just a great place to stay

No complaints -- love staying there when I come to Santa Barbara - quaint and sweet. Beautiful grounds, nice staff, above average rooms. Looking forward to staying in the suite with fireplace this weekend, 1/5-8.

Looking forward to next stay

Fabulous view, large comfortable room,I understand they have redecorated since our stay. I found a couple of the desk staff to be snippy and impatient,but the pleasantness and helpfullness of the manager and other staff made up for it. The well placed balcony afforded us a wonderful view of the harbor,wharf and sunsets.The hotel's proximity to the trolly gave us freedom from dealing with traffic and parking.If you are looking for a full service resort The West Beach Inn is not for you. It is however a quiet, beautifully landscaped oasis after a day of shopping or sight seeing. The expanded continental breakfast is very appealing and offers something for everyone. Even those with special dietary needs could find something to enjoy. If the lack of room service is a concern, there is a local company that will deliver for a modest fee. All in all our stay was excellent, we are returning later this summer.

Splendid!

Although the hotel itself is older, it's been beautifully redone. The rooms are wonderful. The beds are exquisite, extremely comfortable, with actual feather pillows. The free breakfast is pedestrian, bagels, muffins, yogurt. But the location is great -- you're on the beach and within walking distance of restaurants, and sightseeing. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nice sized hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, quiet, and a few have private outdoor patio. The contintental breakfast and evening wine & cheese bar make it an excellent value. A wonderful walk down the beach to the pier and trolley. Prices are reasonable - its our favorite place to stay!

Large rooms!

Great location with a beautiful view from the large balcony. Clean room and plenty of room for a crib. There is a park on the sand across the street. Not the fanciest place around but a great experience.

Clean, conveniently located and family like...

We stayed in the West Beach Inn for two nights on our trip from LA to San Francisco. And even though the WBI isn't one of the fancy five star palasts of the country this was one of my most convenient stays ever. Nice staff, very clean room, small but clean and well maintained pool and jakuzi area, free amenties such as breakfast, wine and cheese in the afternoon, free coffee all day and free internet access. Literally on the beach, next to the harbor and one of the whale watching companies the city center is in walking distance (by European standards *smile*). I would recommend staying there to anyone who would like to go to SB.
