This is a very clean place to stay. The service is very good and it is located at a key location, close to downtown and freeway.

While the hotel was clean it proved to be a horrible place to sleep. The beds are so stiff, I actually had a spring poking me in my rib as I slept on my side. I also had to go to Ross to purchase a pillow due to the fact that the pillows at the hotel were so thin. Continental breakfast was a joke. I would not stay again.

Stay was very quite and no interruptions or bad experiences. Staff was nice. There was just a few odd things about the rooms. The towels were very very rough to use. It was a bit difficult to get ready if you are a female. There were no available or accessible outlets to plug in my curling iron. I had to move the dresser and unplug the lights because there were not enough outlets and they were in awkard locations, so I basically had to get ready in the dark. There was not much lighting in the room so it was hard to apply makeup or even get a good look in the mirror. The bed was a bit uncomfortable as well. Almost everyone in our group woke up and was complaining about their back or neck hurting. It was good enough for a one night stay but I may have minded it more, had I stayed longer.

Room 122 is on the end of the building, and as a result, has an additional window. That window gives you better ventilation, and a nice view of the nearby hills. It has two queen beds (although we just needed one) we had friends over who stayed in the adjacent room, so they could lounge on that extra bed and we could all hang out together. The room was equiped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, and a wall mount AC/heater. The room also has a nice little table and two comfortable upolstered chairs, which were gross and in dire need of cleaning, as were the floors and carpet. There was no door mat, so all the junk carried in on one's feet or shoes is deposited on the carpeting. Additionally, the walls are painted a stark, bright white - not very relaxing - more hospital like. The location is on the north end of town, and is convenient to freeway access. SLO's lovely downtown area is just down the street a few blocks, within a few minutes walking distance. One can also catch a trolley-bus downtown that runs every 20 minutes or so.

GOOD SERVICE AT CHECK OUT AND CHECK-IN. GOOD LOCATION TO GO TO UNIVERSITY. AND DOWN TOWN. INTERNET SERVICE IS VERY GOOD TOO. ROOM SERVICE FROM HOUSE-KEEPER IS VERY NICE. BATHROOM WAS VERY CLEANED. ONLT POOL WAS NOT HEATED.

Very Clean, courteous and excellent value. Will stay there again. If you are heading to Cal Poly it is close and convenient to get there.

We booked a room over the internet two months in advance for this hotel. We spent four hours driving up on a Friday night in horrible traffic from Los Angeles. When we got to the hotel we were told by a rude man at the desk that he had no reservation for us. He offered no explanation for the mix up. He said to go try somewhere else. He wouldnt even finish helping us, as he had two other irate people at his desk that he had given their rooms away earlier. So we left and spent another hour trying to find another place to stay for two nights. It was difficult, but we managed. Also we wanted to swim that evening in a heated pool. This pool was not in working order. So we were glad to move on. WE will never again book at another Travelodge!

I booked a 2 queen bed room over internet. After I checked in, I found out I was given a 2 double bed room. I requested to change to a 2-queen bed room because that is the only reason I chose the hotel. The manager first told me there was no more 2-queen bed room because they overbooked. Then he said their computer got problem for the past few days so they didn�t know who booked 2-queen bed room. I questioned him how did you know I had reservation. He said I got your booking information from other people, but he didn�t know I booked 2-queen bed room. What an interesting excuse! I then requested to refund the price difference if the hotel only got 2-double bed room left. He said the difference is only $4. I questioned him again why the customer who checked in after me only paid $74 for 2-double bed and I had to pay $103. He said because you booked your room over Yahoo and we had to pay fees to Yahoo, so your rate was higher. I was really unhappy. First above, I was charged 2 queen bed room rate and given a 2-double bed room. Secondly, I felt the hotel was not doing an honest business. Third, Yahoo always advised �low rate guarantee� on the website and I paid 40% more on Yahoo than other people paid somewhere else. I finally found another hotel with 2-queen bed room to check in. I didn�t stay at this un-honest hotel.

For SLO a great value. Clean room, redone bathroom, new refrigerator and microwave. TV and bed are okay.
