Marina Inn And Suites, San Diego

I stayed here recently and was very impressed awesome location close to many things Little Italy, Old Town, Convetion Center, Maritime Musuem, And many other San Diego attractions. Great staff especially John most friendly person I have met in all the hotels I have been to every morning when I would come in for the free breakfast he would greet me with a nice smile and friendly attitude very nice to wwake up to that

I went to the hotel 4 times, and it was always the same, friendly, affordable, welcoming, clean, just right in one word. My last visit was Dec 2009 but I was there 3 time before that. I highly recomment the place to anyone who wants a conviniently locate hotel and feel welcome.

My colleagues and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights to attend a conference at the San Diego Convention Centre. The front desk reps were very friendly & helpful. The rooms were nicely decorated. We had 2 Queen beds, w/ a fridge & microwave oven, & a complimentary safety deposit box inside the room. We got 2 free bottled water a day. The breakfast is nothing grand but it was good to have orange juice/coffee/tea along w/ a muffin or fruits, or cereal to start the morning. It cost us $375.40 w/ taxes included for the 5 night stay. Other colleagues of ours stayed at a more expensive hotel and it was costing them close to $200 a night & there was no free breakfast, free shuttle from the airport (they had to take the taxi too), & no free internet. It only cost us $8.50 taxi fare from the airport. Denny's restaurant was just across. 7-Eleven was about 3 blocks away. We walked 2 blocks away to go to the Hornblower Dinner & Dance cruise. We walked about 7 min. to go to the MTS train stn to go to the Las Americas Outlet mall (45 min. by train.). We paid the $5 Day Pass. There were 5 of us in total who checked in this hotel and they said they slept just fine. Yes, it can be noisy when the train passes by & when cars honked. If you are a very light sleeper, you may want to stay away from any hotels along the train tracks. Great value for money spent!

We really liked the proximity to the waterfront. The room was great. The staff really helpful, especially David who checked us in. We would stay again if in town.

This hotel is worse than any hostel I had ever been to. Even though the room 'looks' clean, but the daily cleaning service only straighten things up without changing the sheets. The sheets were washed, but with spots on them. The pillows are so bad to the point that will make your neck hurt.

THIS LOCATION WAS RIGHT IN THE HEART OF BOTH THE CITY AND RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM ALL THAT IS GOING ON IN THE MARINA! WHAT A VALUE!

location is too noisy! We booked 2 nights for 2 non smoking double beds and were given a smoking room. I was told the rooms were completely booked but i reserved the rooms a month prior. So the manager offered us a different room. The room was extremely dirty and i stayed in what they called a suite. Bed linens and towels were worn out. No microwave in the suite. Furniture and beddings were outdated. The carpet and the bathroom (which can only fit one person at a time) had mold in the shower. We couldn't even close the shower door all the way. When we took a shower, the water would turn cold or hot, so i got burned once. Last night on new years eve, my daughters were taking a shower when the power went out. We counted at least 7 times. The manager informed us that the people above us had 2 hairdryers going on. I guess that what caused the short. Our socks turned black from the carpet and the bathroom floors. Free breakfast consist of poppyseed and blueberry bread (i think was purchased from costco) and oj and coffee. My kids were miserable the whole time and were looking forward to leaving this place asap!!!!!! Not worth staying.

I enjoyed this place because it had very reasonable rates that allowed us to come visit our son who is in the military. We were very close to his base, and they had nice rooms so the whole family could come down to this part of the country. We were very surprised when we started looking up rates for the trip - San Diego seems overpriced by a lot! But, this place made the trip possible for the all of us, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Since my son had been stationed down for only a few weeks, we didn't know where to go or what to do really, and the staff was very nice and helpful in making some dinner suggestion, etc. THey helped us get around too, for sure. I think this trip would have been a disaster otherwise, without this staff and hotel! We wouldn't have been able to eat, let alone go out for fun!

The Marina inn is a great hotel for the price you pay. Excellent location, clean, the rooms are great, continental breakfast is served for free, the pool is a good size poool and even though it's a couple of miles away from Seaworld and the zoo, it is right next to the freeway, in a quiet location. I would stay there the next time we visit San Diego again!

I love getting a great deal, and staying at this hotel is a great deal. I mean, no one in town can beat these prices and I love the location - I am so close to everything. I adore travelling but can only do so frequently if I make a strict budget and stick to it! This motel makes it totally a doable proposition and I am so happy I found it! Clean, comfortable, safe, and the staff is very pleasant.
