13 reviews for Malibu Beach Inn, Malibu
Smell of sewage
By Bruiser, 03/22/09
Overall, this was a big disappointment. I can't believe any of the good reviews on this site. It seems like the hotel wrote them. The food was horrible and super expensive. I stayed at the old Malibu Inn and it was so cozy and the management were so nice and welcoming. This hotel is too "precious" and there was a stench of sewage. We checked out and went to a hotel across the street.

cash and credit cards were stolen
By J, 03/22/09
Simply out, do not stay here. While we were out of our rooms but on the property, someone used a key to break and enter into our rooms and stole all of our cash and credit cards. 3k total. The manager was a bully and he was terrible - when I asked for a make good and reimbursement he said - "NO, stay somewhere else next time" Unbelievable. DO NOT RISK iT and don't waste your money. Stay at Shutters. We filed a police report. Unfortunatley the police have bigger fish to fry. Hopefully this helps someone from this rip off trap. Many other problems but I think this review is warning enough!

Romantic Getaway
By Chris, 03/26/07
We had a perfectly romantic stay at the Malibu Beach Inn. The room was awesome! We had a view of the ocean from our room and the hot tub on our balcony! My husband had secretely ordered the Romance Package and we had gone to a concert and when we returned the bed was turned down for us and covered in rose petals and a bottle of wine was chilling for us in front of the fireplace. And there was a box of chocolates also. I would love to go back some day.

Great little hotel; reservations are difficult to get
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/06
Location and value. The only complaint that I have is that reservations are difficult to get no matter when I try. The rooms were not too sound proof; I had noisy neighbors and had to call the front desk a couple of times.

AWESOME HOTEL!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/06
If you are looking for the most wonderful getaway in Malibu, this is the best hotel to experience that! I stayed only one night, but it was a truly breathtaking stay. The rooms are very nice and the view makes them even nicer!! I would recommend this hotel any day of the week, it's truly spectacular!

Love Malibu Beach Inn
By Tammy F, 07/21/06
This is one of my favorite places to stay...The location is excellent with it being in the middle of Malibu. You have lots of things nearby with Cross Creek, and great restaurants. The beach is a little small and non existant at High Tide, but there isn't a whole lot one can do about that. The chair rental/umbrella rental is really reasonable and they are great about bringing it all down to you. The breakfast is great and FREE and there is a great tea in the afternoon. They now have a little bar set up and an omelete station in the AM. The staff is great and so helpful. The oceanfront rooms are great and you can leave the sliders open for the gorgeous sounds of the waves. You are on Carbon Beach and so you are surrounded by beautiful houses and the pier is right next door. On the weekends they open up Malibu Pier for Lunch and Breakfast. Surfrider is the next beach over for Surfers and the beach is a little bit deeper there. We stayed for a week, and I have nothing but great things to say, I can't wait to see the remodel which will take place in the winter (The place will close) and we have already booked again for next year. This place is a must stay if you are going to Malibu. There is no where better...Thanks again...:)

Excellent Romantic Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/06
All the reviews are right on. This place is amazing, right on the water, with an excellent staff. The valet greated us with umbrellas and escorted us into the hotel. However the "jacuzzis" are the kind you buy at Costco for a few hundred dollars. The place is pricey, but if you see what you are getting, it is worth it. Very romantic place, but if you venture into the lobby for breakfast you will probably find some children, (they will deliver it to your room for a $5 fee) A great way to get away from LA with only a 30 minute drive from downtown. WE will probably go back next year.

Malibu Beach Inn --- a great place...except for the screaming kids! :)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/05
Malibu Beach Inn is a wonderful, warm, nurturing hotel. The service is excellent, the decor soothing, and the location prime. My own complaint is that the management allowed a young boy (about 10 years old) to completely disrupt the peace and quiet the first morning of our stay there, starting at about 8:30 a.m. His noisemaking was right outside the hotel (he was likely a guest, as he was screaming and playing in the Inn guest area on the beach side). My wife and I were disappointed that nothing was done about this.

Can't get more "on the beach"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/05
I've never been to a hotel that is closer to the water. Only LA hotel with a south of the border feel. Also, great rooms and a staff that is more helpful and knowledgable than I've ever experienced. A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Thanks, Malibu Beach Inn for making my stay relaxing and wonderfully pleasant.
