We chose the Cobblestone Inn after looking at their website and after receiving their brochure. I thought it was a bit pricey but went ahead and booked it. When we arrived the woman at the front desk was very helpful and professional. She showed us 2 different rooms to choose from. We chose Room 18 upstairs, it was a spacious room with a King size bed and a jet tub and everything appeared to be ok. After settling in we noticed a few things that were askew. The guard cover over the electric register had fallen off. The sofa was worn and had rips in it. The rooms dont have A/C so since it was very warm out we opened all of the windows only to awakened by one on them slamming down in the middle of the night. The rooms need some attention to say the least if their going to charge the prices they do. We stayed for two nights, the maid made our bed but didnt vacuum. They brought us bath and guest towels but no washcloths. Both mornings we were awakened by construction noise going on right outside our window. The first morning it wasnt so bad but the second morning we were awakened at 8am by the noise. Most people go to Carmel to relax, our experience at the Cobblestone Inn was far from relaxful. The noise forced us to get up and get out of our room. We might have over looked all of the other flaws had we been put in a room that wasnt next to a construction site. When I mentioned this to another woman at the front desk she acted like she didnt know anything about the very obvious construction going on. The inns court yard is quite pretty, lots of flowers, too bad inside of the rooms dont live up to the outside appearance The breakfast was very good but I would never stay here again.
