Decent hotel

I had to book a room at the last minute for an event at the LAX Weston and I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. Fortunately, my stay was pleasant. I got a room on the ninth floor on the Century Blvd side. The airport noise was minimal and I didn't hear the kennel. The bed was very comfortable and the room and the bathroom was clean. They could use some tile cleaner for the grout in the shower, but other than that it was spotless. I didn't notice any fading carpet and there was certainly no mildewy smell that others complained about.
I did not eat at the restaurant, just stopped for a beer at the bar, but the dining facilities looked decent. One word of warning: DO NOT EVEN TOUCH ANYTHING ON THE SNACK BAR TRAY OR IT IS AUTOMATICALLY BILLED TO YOUR ROOM! I got charged $10 for just picking up the card on the tray. I had to call the front desk after I returned from my trip to get it straightened out and the guy explained any item moved on the tray gets billed.
Aside from that, it was a decent hotel if you can get the discount rates. I paid $109 plus taxes, and that seemed reasonable for what you get and the location (meaning you want something minutes from the airport). Oh, and the airport shuttle was very useful. They run every 15 minutes or so. The internet is $11.95/day. If it had been free I would have given 5 stars for value.
