Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/10
I had to book a room here last minute because the previous place I booked (Adventure Hotel & Suites) was awful! The Westin gave me a good price and I got upgraded to a suite (on the 12th Floor) because they ran out of doulbe beds. Room Service was good too! Totally recommend this hotel.

Decent hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/10
I had to book a room at the last minute for an event at the LAX Weston and I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. Fortunately, my stay was pleasant. I got a room on the ninth floor on the Century Blvd side. The airport noise was minimal and I didn't hear the kennel. The bed was very comfortable and the room and the bathroom was clean. They could use some tile cleaner for the grout in the shower, but other than that it was spotless. I didn't notice any fading carpet and there was certainly no mildewy smell that others complained about. I did not eat at the restaurant, just stopped for a beer at the bar, but the dining facilities looked decent. One word of warning: DO NOT EVEN TOUCH ANYTHING ON THE SNACK BAR TRAY OR IT IS AUTOMATICALLY BILLED TO YOUR ROOM! I got charged $10 for just picking up the card on the tray. I had to call the front desk after I returned from my trip to get it straightened out and the guy explained any item moved on the tray gets billed. Aside from that, it was a decent hotel if you can get the discount rates. I paid $109 plus taxes, and that seemed reasonable for what you get and the location (meaning you want something minutes from the airport). Oh, and the airport shuttle was very useful. They run every 15 minutes or so. The internet is $11.95/day. If it had been free I would have given 5 stars for value.

not upto mark
By divy, 7/8/08
hotwire gave it a 4star rating but it was not upto standard. carpet/bathroom was not clean, lots of wires floating around in the room. They charge you for car parking. they charge you for internet access. they charge you for everything. though everything -Airport, rental etc- is pretty accessible from hotel.

Great place to go.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
Well, I only have 2 complaints really then we will get to the good stuff. The first would be that the area of the hotel is not in a good neighborhood, we had a personal driver the entire week, he told us from the very start not to eat in that neighborhood, he would walk us everywhere as it is not the best neighborhood to be out at (especially at night). The other complaint I would have is that the air conditioning was not working correctly, we had called the desk to have them send someone upstairs to fix it. While we were gone, the person took off the cover and said nothing was wrong with it. We come back and mess with it for about 10 minutes, replaced the filter ourselves and it worked fine. So if you have something wrong with your room, you are pretty much out of luck and on your own with that one. The best features are the class of the hotel, the room service is very nice but pricey. Also the bed, and shower are phenomenal, I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting on business or vacation!

First time to LA and...
By Taya or YaiYai, 12/10/06
I've stayed in cleaner hotels. I was expecting just a little more than what we were given since my boyfriend is a Platinum member. The room was entirely too small and the customer service at the front desk when we checked in was pretty bad. The bathroom floors seemed as if they needed to be cleaned. Housekeeping never brought us our towels. Room service was extremely high but I think all room service is high in every hotel. When we were leaving to go to the airport and arrived, my boyfriend turned to hand me our dog when we were outside the shuttle to give the driver a tip, the driver never gave him a chance and asked him for the tip. Very tacky and unprofessional. Now the trip wasn't entirely awful, Enterprise car rental is inside the hotel, The staff gave us every thing we needed for our dog, and the beds were nice to sleep on. Room service was fast and quick.

WORST stay - but HELPFUL Mgrs.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/06
PROS: Natch on the beds - but a little firm for my taste - expected softer. VERY polite staff - Managers very helpful and courteous. Gave us a discount for MULTIPLE problems. CONS: Maids tried to open door IMMEDIATELY after knocking with waiting for us to open it - even after displaying PRIVACY door tag. Carpets were icky to walk on barefoot - somewhat sticky feeling. Food is EXCELLENT - but overpriced. Very few nice/moderately priced restaurants nearby - mostly fast food. Did not expect the $15/day parking fee as a guest of the hotel. Fridge in room did not seem to have coldness control and did not get very cold. Bathroom was a little spartan compared to the bedroom. BIGGY: 3RD FLOOR PARKING LEVEL - no RAMP ACCESS into hotel - only stairs. You apparently have to take parking elevator to another level (main floor??).

Awesome
By Deborah, 7/20/06
The reason why I picked this hotel was because of the wonderful bedding. You can really get a great nights rest on a layover at this hotel. The service.... can't say enough. This hotel is close to everything...shopping, airport, rental car companies (Thirfty next door), resturants, beaches, etc..

don't stay here
By Lynne V, 2/23/06
This was an awful hotel. It was a miracle if we received housekeeping services. When calling for porters, a call was never sufficient, we waited & waited and then went to the lobby to hunt someone down. After 3 days there glasses in bathroom were replaced after my complaint and request. Another company paid for our stay and I let them know that whatever they paid was too much considering the lack of service. I am sure the Heavenly Dog feels much more welcomed than my husband and I did.

No more Westin at LAX
By christina, 11/14/05
2 out of 6 elevators were working, and the stairwells were like a maze that wouldn't even pass public safety regulations. I mean if there was a hotel emergency while we were there our chances of surviving were very slim!! They allow free valet parking for hotel guests but charge $15 per day for hotel guests if you decide to garage park. Our room was dirty, and there were not any bathroom supplies. Our room smelt like an old musky, smokey bar that hadn't been cleaned in years. In fact the whole 4th floor is one large smokey bar!!

Good Experience
By Bruin Mike, 9/27/05
Room was somewhat small but the the room floor was quiet. Bed was nice and comfortable. Boo Hoo, they do not have Heavenly Bath amenities. Overall, a nice hotel for the price and a nice place to stay.
