MY FAVORITE SF HOTEL
By ,
I absolutely love this hotel, we have gone in September three years in a row and looking to go again this year, its romantic and scenic, its sits onto of the hill overlooking the city and the cable cars are right outside your door, althouh the constant ding ding of the trolly can get on your nerves when your trying to sleep. Othewise, the Hotel is immaculate, the staff is courteous.

Love the Beds!
By ,
The Stanford Court has the most incredible beds I've ever slept in. I sleep so well here because the bedding is so soft comfortable. Book online for a MUCH lower fare....as much as half price! I've stayed at this hotel during 3 separate trips to San Francisco, and I will definitely stay here again.

Looking forward to my return!
By ,
The customer service all around was fantastic, whether your Rich, Uppermiddle case or low income, you are treated with respect dignity and they make you feel like royality and special. I plan on staying there for my Birthday this year in November. I have stayed at several hotels in San Francisco and this is by all means the best. I have been telling all my friends. Mary, Las Vegas

Very Disappointing...
By ,
My girlfriend and I were very excited to stay at this hotel as it seemed to get nice reviews. However, once we walked in and spoke to the front desk attendant, our excitement was basically over. Several staff members, including members of the front desk and concierge, were very rude. They seemed to treat us differently, sadly, when they saw that we were getting a discounted rate because my girlfriend was an employee of another Marriott hotel. We checked in earlier than regular check-in time, and the attendant told us our room was not ready. This was understandable, but when we asked about a timeframe for when the room would be ready - to see how much time we'd have to spend exploring SF - the attendant became very aggressive, telling us that she can't give us any kind of a time-frame. We were very surprised since we knew how it generally worked in Marriott hotels, but we decided to go get lunch and walk around. We came back two hours later and the rooms were still not ready. The same attendant became very curt and rude with us when we asked whether it would be closer to 20 minutes or a few hours, as we had had a long day travelling already. She kept interrupting me, not letting me finish my request, telling me that she had our phone number on file and she'd call when our room was ready. We returned after 3pm - the normal check in time - to check on status only to find more of the same horrible behavior. When we asked if they would at least give us a drink coupon for the bar - as Marriott's are usually very willing to do when a guest's room isn't ready on time - the attendant stated that "We don't do that here." We ended up getting our room after 4pm, more than 4 hours after originally checking in, and they never called us to let us know that our room was ready; we had to call the hotel ourselves about an hour from the last time we spoke to them. Even aside from some of the staff being rude, the room was very small and overall outdated (and not in a quaint, charming way), the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the airconditioning was very loud and smelly. I definitely would not return to this hotel, even at a discounted rate.

Not Happy Checking In
By ,
I didn't like the service while checking in. My cousin booked my reservation so I can get a discount. The man who processed my check-in assummed that my cousin wasn't planning to spend the night even though the room had 2 queen size beds. He claimed that being cousins is not considered for family rates even though I had the form signed & authorized to get the discounted rate. The sheet between the comforter & the fitted sheet was missing from both beds. The iron did not work. The walls or floors are too thin that you can hear noises from the washing machines from the next floor up & when they wheel carts out on the hallway. Needless to say, the guy at the front desk set the tone or my attitude for our one night stay at the hotel.

Old World Charm...
By ,
I loved the quaint feel and the old world charm of this hotel. The bed was wonderful! ( very comfortable) My husband and I live busy lives (don't we all!) and to just get away for a few days was nice. The location was perfect and the staff beyond friendly and very professional. We've stayed at many establishments that rank very high coast to coast and internationally, and the service at some did not meet the quality of service at this hotel. We were very please. Enjoyed walking up the hill (next door) to the "Top of the Mark" bar. WHAT A VIEW. Nice place for a glass of wine or what every your choice of beverage is and just enjoy the sunset and the wonderful view and live music! I think that is a must... very relaxing. Can't wait to go back and enjoy another fun filled / no schedule weekend at this wonderful establishment.

I loved this hotel
By ,
I loved my entire stay at this hotel. I was there for a company conference. This was comfort from start to finish. The employees at this hotel are friendly and their first priority is that you enjoy your stay. You are truly pampered when you stay here. The location is a long walk from the Wharf area and to pick up tours, but the cable cars meet at the corner of this hotel. You just jump on and are there in minutes. You can purchase a 3 day pass in the hotel gift shop. Tip: if you don't scratch off the days on the ticket, (the cable car operators don't scratch them, they ask you to) you can return it to the gift shop for a credit for merchandise. I don't usually rate hotels a 5, but this was first class all the way. Thank you Stanford Court!
