It's a cheap MOTEL, ya we understand that but the service was just crazy bad! If u have kids and your not used to being around HOOKERS AND HOES AND THEIR PIMPS, OH YA AND LETS NOT FORGET THE DRUG ADDICTS AS WELL PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS MOTEL. ITS JUST NOT A POSITIVE, SAFE PLACE TO BE IN. AS FOR THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WELL LETS JUST SAY DO YOU KNOW WHAT MINI MUFFINS LOOK LIKE OR SEE THROUGH COFFEE LOOKING LIKE SOME BROWN WATER, THATS IF U EVEN GET TO THEM BEFORE THE NASTY HANDS GO NEAR. SORRY JUST NOT VERY GOOD!

THIS PLACE GIVES A NEW MEANING TO THE PHRASE.... U GET WHAT U PAY 4!! CHEAP CHEAP AND BOI WUZ IT REAL CHEAP... BOUT AS CHEAP AS THE HOOKERS WORKING THE PARKING LOT! WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE GETTIN N 2 WHEN WE SAW THE PLACE SO WE WERE ABLE TO HANDLE IT. WE JUST ENJOYED WATCHING THE SIDE SHOW... THE BOSS WORKING THE DESK WAS SOO WORRIED BOUT US DRINKING BY THE POOL AND KEEPING THE NOISE DOWN THAT I GUESS HE WAS NOT TO WORRIED BOUT THE HOOKERS ROUND BACK. AND THE ONES WORKING THE ROOMS WHILE THEIR CHILDREN RUN THE PARKING LOTT WHILE MOMMYS UPSTAIRS WITH DADDY NO. 12. HE KNEW THEY WERE THERE. WHILE WE WERE CHILLING OUT BY THE POOL WHO DO U THINK WE C CREEPING ROUND BACK ,,, HIM. WE ALSO ASKED IF WE COULD BBQ BY THE POOL AND WE WERE DENIED BECAUSE BOSS SAID " THE SMOKE MAY BOTHER HIS GUESTS " I DIDNT UNDERSTAND THAT ONE, GUEST CAN STAND TO SMELL THE SMELLY PISSED HALL WAY, BUT BBQ SMELL MAY BOTHER THEM.....GO FIGURE. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT BY THE M.P.D. AND POSSIBLY C. P. S.

Thank you for reading this, I'm not one to usually take the time to complain, but for this I'm making an exception. I arrived at the Knights Inn Modesto and found it to be a very old, run down looking building. The lobby has cob webs hanging from the ceiling and a musty smell that is very noticeable. The lady at the front Mrs. Patel was very nice. We checked into the room and the rooms were shockingly nice. They appeared clean and looked nothing like the outside of the facility. On the surface that was... We had two light bulbs that did not work, I replaced them myself. The beds when pulled down had hair in them. When I went out to the pool, there was trash that had blown into it floating all around, no big deal, I removed it and placed it into the trash, but then I noticed the bottom of the pool. There were cigarette butts, Band-Aids, corn, rocks and a lot of other debris that could have easily been cleaned up if the staff cared. The next morning, I found several bites on my body and after further looking into the bed, I found 3 ticks... I think they were ticks, could have been bed bugs. When I took one of the ticks to the front office to show Mrs.Patel, her only response to my very upset presentation to her was "I will have it checked out" I did not even get an apology. I will never stay at a Knights Inn again, anywhere.

tried to make a resevation desk staff was incredibly rude. Awful horrible. Could not say sorry we can not accomedate you or thank-you for calling. Just we can't do that take it or leave it.

From my experince i would saty their again. The NEW OWNERS cleaned up the mass they had befor. I had no problems at all in fact the managers were very halpful and would stay their again.

Couldn't agree more with previous reviews. Although frankly I think the Chalet is WORSE than the Tropics, which at least has some impressive 50's Tikis and was also much cleaner (although ravaged) the one time I stayed there.

Yep, at the Chalet even the two parts of the toilet paper holder don't match. That's just pathetic. However, as we discovered when making the bed, you DO get free porn magazines with your room!!! You just have to hold your breath all night; the funk in the place is truly memorable. Bleah. Imagine cigarette smoke, toxic fake-pine-scented "air freshener," stale fast food and old sweat socks, heavily mingled and left to ferment in the Valley heat for a few years.

The only conceivable reason to stay at the Chalet is if you really want to get tight at Minnie's--the great old restaurant and bar across the street--and not have to risk a DUI on the way home! ;)

What I find most amazing, though, is that somehow (maybe I don't want to know how), the Chalet is AAA-certified. Maybe someone needs to give AAA a call...I think they haven't been by in a while.

My final word is good news, sort of: the Chalet is so disgusting even the roaches avoid it.

on 9/11/04 wife and I checked into the room in the early evening. Went to dinner and when we came back around 8:30pm, the Motel was full of people hanging around. Looked like a half way house. The place was so unsafe, that I had to request a reverse on my credit card and found another motel. The rooms were not at any standard that I would put any woman in. It was very bad. I would not recommend anyone to stay there unless they were construction worker type of men. I would never recommend a respectful man or woman or family to stay at this facility. It should be reviewed by the Local Police of Modesto for illegal activities. Looked like a "flop house". To bad, it was once one of the better Motels in downtown Modesto. I was raised in Modesto and came to visit family and I will never recommend this motel to anyone.
