Lawrence Welk's Desert Oasis Resort, Cathedral City

I have friends that own at the Welk Resort in Escondido, very nice. I was very disappointed when I first saw the pool at The Welk Desert Oasis. On the website it look big and beautiful. I also didn't like that the pool was so heated, it was almost 120 degrees outside with warm pool water. One of the employees was eating popcorn with his hands out of the popcorn machine. The concierge person is another story, she was horrible, I was very interested in possibly buying a timeshare at the Welk Desert Oasis but was not even offered a tour. She wanted my friend (who I wasn't even with they took their own car and stayed only for 1 night) to take the tour. Then she whispered to come back Monday when my friends checked out. Also never get a bottom floor room, it sounded like a hurd of elephants constantly. I was woken up at 5:00am every night for a week. I will never ever go back to this resort.

I loved this resort so much that I bought a unit so that I can come every year. True it doesn't have a restaurant onsite but that gives you the excuse to venture out and see whats around. Lots to do. Don't miss the Follies. It is really entertaining. Going next week and I can't wait.

We just returned from our stay at the Desert Oasis Resort. There was only a snack bar onsite have to drive to Restaurants, no sidewalks so unable to walk. They only clean the room once midweek if you want anymore that will be extra. You can only exchange bathtowels free on Sun or Wed if you want clean towels other days that will be $5.00. There is one pkg. of coffee if you want more $2.00 extra each packet. We were somewhat disappointed & probably won't return.

We were welcomed by a dead bee in our front door.Except for that everything was clean.we really enjoyed the activity center because of all the games over there.

The place was very clean except the fact that we found a dead bee in our front door. Our room was big and the activity center was great because it had a lot of games like table tennis and board games. This place is definitely worth a visit.

I purchased my timeshare several years ago. I could exchange to go somewhere else. However, I choose to come to the desert. All of the Lawrence Wel staff are so friendly and accomdating. I did get a little disappointed at the color scheme with last years remodel project. When I purchased the timeshare, the decor was bright spring colors. Now the room I stayed in last year had drabe browns & golds. these are coors to be used in much larger rooms. So, next time they are refurbished, please use bright colors, either spring flower colors, or country red & blues, & yellows. I also think a 1st class restaurant that is both accomadating to families and couple dating would be an added asset to the grounds.

the hotel is great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.
