Do not stay at this gang-infested hotel! Not safe!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/09
Not only is it a gang surrounded dump, but the management is very disrespectful. Take your money elsewhere!!!!

Awesome place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/09
My buddies & I had 5 rooms at Royal Plaza during our 3 night stay for the Phish concert recently. Though they were sold out, the staff took care of our needs even at 3 in the morning. The rooms were clean & nicely furnished. We had a blast of a time and will return next year.

Great Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/09
I must really give kudos to Royal Plaza Inn for making our stay a hassle free one during last week’s Long Beach Sixers Basketball tournament. We had 5 teams plus parents and coaches. Royal Plaza Inn did not charge us for not utilizing all the blocked rooms, early check-ins, late check-outs and no-shows. Not only was the hotel centrally located but they had prepared maps for all our different venues. Since we were on the go all the time, they had M&M chocolates & Granola bars for us. I would definitely be returning there for next year’s tournament and would not hesitate in recommending Royal Plaza Inn to sporting teams!

Pass this dump!! - Sleep under palm trees instead
By Paul, 04/29/09
Why would you waste your money to stay here? I had an incident there and talked with the manager, Sylvia. Perhaps the nastiest, rudest hotel “manager” I have ever dealt with. (How is she still a manger?). Couldn’t be “troubled” to help solve a problem. I would rather sleep under a palm tree with the roaches than here. If this is “Indio’s finest”, Indio (and the owner company) needs some real soul-searching. Not a way to do business in any economy!

Great Hospitality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/09
The Royal Plaza Inn is centrally located, with easy access to stores and main Hwy 111. For the past 10 years we have used the Royal Plaza Inn to accomodate our Flying Doctors group that comes out twice a year for a health fair. They are always egar to accomodate and provide the best service available. The comments i have recieved from our group have always been very positive and customer services, Slyvia is particular is the best. She is always ready to help and make their stay a pleasant and comfortable one. The doctors walk next door for breakfast or a refreshment. I would recommend this Royal Plaza Inn to anyone who wants a good night rest at a reasonable prize. Thank you.

PLACE WAS A DUMP
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/08
My Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We paid $119.00 per night due to the horse show being there - and our room was not clean - the shower curtain was half hanging on the rings and half not - The walls had been patched but not painted - the sliding door (or should I say the not so sliding door) rattled so bad that we had to wedge a wash cloth in it. The mini bar under the television was broken but the light stayed on the entire time and at night we could see it. I would have expected this from some fly by night hotel we had great expectations and were greatly let down.

Been staying here for 3 years....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/08
I live in San Diego, but work in the Coachella Valley. Ive been staying at Royal Plaza for going on 3 years now, and consider it my home. The staff have become my second family. After a hard days work in 100+ temperatures, I come home to a nice clean, cool, refreshing room, with all the amenities I like, just the way I like them. If my company changed our lodging location to another hotel, I would not work in the Coachella Valley anymore, as I said before, Royal Plaza is my home away from home.

We Can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/08
This is a older hotel but it is very clean and well maintained. Price was very resonable 79.00 up depends on what day you stay. I stayed here for one week and really enjoyed my stay. I had one of there newly remodled rooms which was great. The front desk staff is great. Sylvia onsite manager is the best.

Horrible
By robin, 01/12/08
My car was broken into by another guest. Management didn't even come to find out if I was OK. Room didn't have clock, was only partly remodeled (no head boards, pictures, etc..). This motel is in a bad area. When I needed to check out, there were many 'locals' outside of my back door. I called the front desk to ask for someone to come down to be security while I loaded my car. Housekeeping came down and we were able to load the car after the 'locals' had finished fighting. Not a safe place to stay!!!!!
