Residence Inn by Marriott San Mateo, San Mateo

I have greatly enjoyed the two occasions that I have stayed on business at the Residence Inn. During the two weeks I spent there, I did not have one complaint in regards to the service or ammenities. It ranks as one of the best places I have ever stayed. The rooms are comfortable and quaint, and the hotel is conveniently located within reasonable walking distance of the Bridgepointe Shopping Center (across highway 92). Staff is very polite and friendly, and the Inn offers convenient shuttle service to and from San Francisco International airport. Additionally, prices were very reasonable, particularly for corporate customers. They also offer breakfast in the morning as well as evening guest activities. If you are visiting near the San Mateo area, I highly recommend staying at the Residence Inn San Mateo.

I think the rooms and hotel are nice. However, the day i booked my room I called and spoke to Moe to let them know I needed a ground floor room, because, of physical disabilities and also wanted a smoking room. He said ok no problem. When I arrived, there was no room for me, Moe did some checking and found a room that an employee was staying in, he asked me if I would like an upgrade to the penthouse, I said, isn't that "upstairs". So they moved the employee. Anyway, 1 1/2 hours after check in time of 2:00 pm I had a room. Also, the breakfast they serve was nice, however, it was upstairs! Hard to do when you can't walk well and use a cane????
