Residence Inn by Marriott, Manhattan Beach

While having a small kitchen can be a convenience, it does not compensate for a total lack of professional customer service. While I'm sure the details of my injury at the hotel and their complete unwillingness to assist me in figuring out how to get my prescription filled or my suitcase handled while on crutches is probably not of interest, here's what is. In many of the rooms, there is a loud, recurring vibration in the walls that is hard to sleep thru. The hotel knows which rooms are impacted so if you do stay there and are not severly hearing impaired, I recommend you specifically request one of the rooms that the engineer has identified as not impacted by that noise. In addition, if safety of yourself and your valuables is important to you, double check your doors every time you enter and leave because upon check-in I found my door unlocked and slightly open. The location is not attractive but it is an easy drive to the beach and restaurants. However, other hotels offer that as well.

Overall an enjoyable stay. All I'd ask is they not be so stingy with their towels. Only 2 large bath and 2 small hand towels were provided for my wife and I. It might sound nitpicky but I don't think it's unheard of to take more than one shower in a 24 hour period and it'd be nice to have enough large towels on hand in order to have a fresh one for each shower.

Reserved the penthouse One Month in Advance. Checked in the day of my stay and was told that they gave my room away because the previous person decided to extend their stay unexpectedly and they had more people in their party than I did. "it would be an Imposition for them to move them to a smaller room." That's exactly what I was told. Boy, was I mad. So, instead of telling them that the room was booked for those nights, they bumped me to a regualr room. The Customer Service was Horrible, and I was extremely disappointed to say the least. It was a horrible experience, and they made me feel inferior. I will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone..... Seriously lacking in Customer Service.
