Once great hotel - now a sad disaster
By Tara, 5/13/11
We have been coming to visit family in Yucca for almost 20yrs now. We have always stayed at the Oasis, and always more than pleased with the room/service/price. We just had a family reunion down there - and some family members stayed here. What a disapointment - it has changed ownership - the pool was dirty - one owner was in the hot tub, letting an agressive pit bull run free in the pool area. The "room service" was self serve - they dont do trash, pick up towels or make beds - it was disgraceful to even be called a hotel .. I should have been on the payroll for doing "their job", There was also no continental breakfast as there has been. Sadly.. they will continue to loose business - other local, new hotels offer maid service and breakfast.. for less money. It will be sad to see this desert icon go down in history- out of business and forgotten

This place has character
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/08
For the price its what one would expect... it's not the Wynn Las Vegas. But, the rooms were clean and kinda cool with some awesome character. It's our favorite place so far on our 11 day trip from Vegas to San Diego and back. We've paid a lot more for less. Spence

Business

Room 202 was clean and tidy. Try to get a downstairs room by the pool area. Rooms toward the back face the rear parking lot. The facility was quiet and the prices were good before their seasonal increase in May. Styling is odd, but spacious.

Not What You Expect
By Hesher, 5/17/06
Overprices rooms with nasty staff. Rooms smelled of mold. Not worth $180 night. Off-site gym. Worst bed I have ever seen. Huge dip in the middle. Traveler Beware.

Poor customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/05
My children and I stayed at the Desert Oasis hotel in Yucca Valley while visiting our family. We were 20 minutes late checking out of the hotel because my teen daughter was taking a long time drying her hair. Because of being 20 minutes late the manager/owner ("Meeta") told me she was charging me another day's stay on my credit card ($72.00) although I had not been told what the check out time was when I checked in. She had the nerve to ask me when I was disputing this with her whether I could read or not a sign regarding check out time stuck in a corner of the lobby. It was obvious during our stay that there were hardly any guests in the hotel. During our stay we only saw two other people and there was only one other car in the parking lot. Our entire trip expenses were well over $5,000 that she was so petty and unaccommodating led me to try to discuss what I perceived to be the unfairness of this extra charge even though small. We returned to the area in which this hotel is a few days later before returning to Pittsburgh and I would not stay in this hotel because of the pure lack of common customer service sense. The hotel's pool is nice but other than that it has nothing to offer that most of the other hotels in this limited tourist area offers. We instead stayed at the Super 8 hotel whose staff was more than friendly and accommodating. The management of Desert Oasis gets way less than a 1 score in my book but that's all this site offers. Shame on Desert Oasis management/owners for being so unaccomodating to their few customers after spending hundreds of dollars to their profit. Don't stay at the Desert Oasis!!!

Neat Motel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/3/04
We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. Polite and courteous service from the lobby and housekeeping staff. The room was clean and comfortable and a good value for the money. Very close to the Joshua Park entrance as well as many shops and restaurants.

Wonderful Place!
We really enjoyed staying here! We were treated very well and the rooms were comfortable and spotless (at least the theme rooms were). I'd gladly stay here again as it's reasonably priced and close to Desert Hot Springs and Joshua Tree.
