Mondrian Los Angeles, West Hollywood

the over all experience was just awesome.. Once we arrived and checked in..withouth having to show our id or room key, the staff knew our last names! The infinity pool was looked yummy, the bed, pillows and the candles gave it a nice touch and the drinks and desserts are yuuummmy. yes, the price is a little up there, but it's worth it if you don't have to do it every weekend. I loved our room over looking the whole party/pool and skybar. excellent!

The management should spend less time trying to be hip (and it's obvious they're trying)and spend more time on the details--like fixing the broken sofa bed, providing linens for the sofa bed, removing the stains on the carpet, providing a comfortable bed and re-doing the bathrooms, especially the shower (which seemed to be taken from a Motel 6). The room was large, however.

The lobby is cool and they're all about style, but the rooms are awful. They need serious updating. The carpets were stained with who knows what. I've been in Motel 6 rooms that are nicer than this. They also charged for mini-bar items not used - I hope they use the money they stole from me to update a room!

The area where the hotel is located is very convenient to most of the hot spots in Los Angeles including the famous House of Blues which is located right across from the hotel.

I only stayed at the Mondrian for 1 night, and I thought it was over-rated. The suite I got was nice, but extremely small compared to most suites I am used to. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed that I spent over $300 for it. I was over-looking Sunset Blvd. though, so that was an upside. I thought Asia de Cuba was great, esp. since they accomodated my LATE party of 10. Drinks were good, but of course, expensive. Overall, the Mondrian was nice, but not worth the cost.

Maybe boutique hotels are not my thing because I was more impressed with the Hyatt across the street or Best Western a few doors down. The first impression is favorable --- the tranquil, zen effect is certainly "felt"; however, if you soend any amount of time in the lobby or your hotel room there is nothing that represents quality. Nearly every piece of furniture is covered over by a white slipcover --- that you may note having ground-in stains. Nothing is overwhelmingly comfortable and the hotel lacks any warm. Seems to target the nouveau-riche or wanna-bes.

If you're an "out of towner" looking for the glitz and glam of Hollywood, the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles is the place to stay! The first thing you'll notice is the location....right on Sunset next to The House Of Blues and close to everything! In addition, you're right on a bus line to take you sight seeing into downtown Hollywood. Ride the Dash for $.25...yes, that's twenty-five cents! The bellmen looked as if they had all walked out of the pages of GQ with their suave outfits, clean appearances and eager-to-serve attitudes. They were friendly, helpful and full of tips on what to see, where and when. The room was average in size, but boasted a bigger than life, super king bed with the finest thread count sheets, down comforter and enormous down pillows. White was the decor...very clean lines and simple except for the beautiful live orchid adorning the side table along with the retro magazines. The view alone made this room spectacular, as we could see all of the hollywood lights for miles. The hotel was chic and ecclectic in decor...very unusual, but sophisticated. The restaurant seats some of Hollywood's "who's-who" and the night club, The Sky Bar, was tinseltown at it's finest! Have you ever had a cocktail under the stars surrounded by lanterns, torches and toss pillows while lounging on a matress? Then you must make the Sky Bar your evening stop for liquid refreshment. And please don't forget to relish in the Aqua Spa products provided instead of the usual soaps and shampoos!! You'll be spoiled and MUST purchase full sized bottles for home for the mini bar! At the time of our stay, we needed a fresh robe and stereo cd player...they were delivered within MINUTES! I cannot say enough about this hotel...give it a try for the real deal in Hollywood glam!

This is a very upscale Hotel located directly on Sunset Blvd. It is close to the House of Blues and across from the Hyatt Hotel that houses the CHI bar owened by Justin Timberlake. The hotel is beautiful and roomy and has every item in the room you could have needed or forgotten. The sky bar has an open atmosphere and overlooks the pool. The only thing that gets you is the price, but it is LA remember!

I loved this place because everything is extreemly clean and the service was 100% 24/7. The food in the restaurant tasted amazing and the skybar is alot of fun. Alot of interresting people to meet there and to top it off, the whole staff is very friendly and always helpful. I'll recomment this hotel to anyone who comes to Hollywood, you get treated like a STAR for sure, i felt like a STAR !!!

Stayed there for two nights. (2nd floor)Rooms are nice. Not a very good view unless you're higher up. Everything is very expensive. $5 for a can of soda. Workers are friendly.
