Marina International Hotel And Bungalow, Marina del Rey

I have stayed at several hotels in the area and this one has the best staff and customer service. They allow a cash deposit and are willing to be flexible with you when to comes to that. They are always pleasent and give service with a smile. The rooms a large and clean. The furniture is not new but it is comfortable. Each room has a balcony and there are cute bungalows available for just a bit more than a regular room.The parking is free but during the rain it floods. Another thing I love about this place is the complementary Quatro woman's razor. Other perks include afternoon cookies, morning paper and there is room service.

We stayed for two nights and would not return. The place is run by nice enough people who do their best but the rooms are disappointing. They are large and when you first walk in your think, "nice!" However, upon closer inspection the curtains were hanging off the rail, the furniture was chipped and the drawers were falling apart. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom was the worst I have EVER seen! The tiles were dark brown, the suite brown and the mirror so old and faded I could hardly see myself in it. How dare they let people stay in such conditions and charge $119 plus tax. The positives were, the location, the lobby which had two open staircases leading up to the rooms, a nice bar area with a limited, but decent menu. The harbour house restaurant was great. There seem to be better hotels nearby.

The Best Western is across the street for maybe $30 more. The Embassy Suites are less expensive for a suite. Unfortunately this was a trip booked by a large party, but even then I still almost checked out as soon as I opened my door. The room was cramped and smelled like it had not been opened in twenty years. The carpets had stains on top of stains. If you need a place to pass out after a hard night of drinking and you don't want to worry about vomiting on the floor then this is the place for you! Oh, and the parking garage height limit is 5 foot 10 inches so don't bring your common SUV or truck. I now have a big scratch to remember this god-awful trip by. They hosted a convention and let every attendee park in the parking garage. So I returned from my local function to find that there was no parking at all. As I said in the beginning, The Embassy Suites were cheaper, cleaner, have a very nice breakfast, and Best Western is across the street. The larger party of Bikers checking in before me pretty much sums up this wreck of a Motel (not a Hotel).

other reviews were mediocre but we got a great deal, had excellent service and though there were definitely a few small blemishes in the furnishings it was a very large and comfortable room, the wi-fi was strong and free, and the parking was free too. we will definitely come back.

Will probable not stay here again.Rooms were clean but need remodeling OH SO BAD.TV was smaller than my carry on. Rooms large. No info in the room on the area,local food or pizza delivery for the kids, if I had them. I could hear everything going on in the rooms on both sides of me.Paper thin walls ,lite coming in from under the door 2 inch gap.Could hear every toilet flush on both floors above me and next door.Never saw the dining room open.Had Happy hour in the bar was ok.Not a lot of personality about this place.Didn't seem much in the service business to me.Sure I left a sun dress in the room IT WAS NEVER FOUND.????? Should have stayed at the Marina Del Rey across the way. Location was nice front desk ok. t in tucson az

We stayed on a Saturday night May 20th, 2006 and didn't get sleep because we could here the people next door to us talking and the people above us were just walking and it sounded as if the ceiling was going to colapse. The decor is very outdated, 70's/80's style. But worst of all they charged a random charge of $125.00 and when I called I got the run around, they told me because they were under new management they didn't know how to credit us and we would have to dispute the charge with our credit card company. This was inconvenient since we paid with a debit card which has to be cancelled and no one would return my calls.

The carpeting had stains on it, the bathroom sink wouldn't shut off, the sliding door had a breeze coming through it even when it was shut and locked, the room was 80 degrees one day and 54 the next for no apparent reason (they couldn't fix it or explain why), and all the vending machines were either unplugged or just plain gone. The customer service was horrible. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversation in the next room even if you aren't even trying.

Booked this hotel for our wedding guests as our facility was across street. Promised them a good number of room nights and was given the "special" price. It became apparent that our special price was $10 a night MORE expensive than the price anyone off the street would pay. Put together more room nights than we had promised. Bride and groom got no comp or upgrade for this and was told to pound sand when asked. Our Guests were treated unprofessionally when making reservations. Front desk couldn't tell us if any of our guests were checked in or not (we were told one group didn't show up but they had been in the hotel for two days). Rooms were dirty and the furniture/paint was terrible. No heat in some rooms and never fixed when reported. Staff admitted that they are told to say it was being worked on but take no action as the heat is beyond repair. When complaints were made to staff we were told directly (yes, this is what the staff said in their words) that management didn't care about them or us and would not respond to any complaints. Our manager contact told us that her hands were tied as the hotel was in process of being sold and her new owners wouldn't give her the power to solve problems. This was apparently a lie as when we spoke to her a few weeks later about lingering problems she said that the hotel may be sold in the future but she doesn't know. This is a place to avoid folks!

This hotel is older, but the location is in the middle of Marina del Rey, the rooms are large and well taken care of, the staff goes out of their way to be pleasant. We have already booked reservations for next month at this hotel. Strongly recommended for those of us who can't afford Marriott but want the amenities. They also have bungaloes with fireplaces that looked interesting.

This place is literally falling apart! The elevator buttons were hanging loose, the tv was fuzzy, the walls were paper thin, and the "heater" blew cold air and dropped our room's temp by 5 degrees. After calling the hotel staff, they suggested that we turn it off....that's it!
