"Well, we got you once anyway..."
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/09
This was the response to our complaints regarding our one night stay and our intention to never visit this place again. Apparently customer service is not part of this operation. The web site is attractive, but reality is very shabby, old and mismatched. Only two bath towels, one washcloth and two hand towels were offered. When we asked for another towel we were handed a bath mat and told that is it, no linen service until tomorrow. No ice was available so we bought ice at the convenient liquor store (next to the tattoo parlor and pool hall) just yards away. Then we discovered that our king size bed only had a double flat sheet as the bottom sheet and who knows what had touched the mattress pad which was all our feet had to touch. Continental breakfast? My husband wouldn't touch it and went to the McDonalds across the street where he voiced his opinion of the hotel and the manager said that everybody who stayed there said the same thing...terrible. Save yourself the headache and please stay somewhere else where the staff cares enough to make your stay pleasant.

very disapointed.....
By Mike, 09/30/08
Well, let me say that the pictures on their web site were taken years ago (im sure)... the INN/motel is old and somewhat run down, though my room was clean minus the permenet stains. The location is somewhat close to the beach, but located on a loud, busy street with a brutally LOUD bar especially at 2am - noithing like waking up to drunk people yelling up and down the street at 2am. The 'free' cruser bikes were broken except 2 which were hardly safe and for a motel with 18 rooms was just about immposible to use, the AC was working but had mechanical noise making it hard to sleep..... stay at the holiday inn and save the hassle...... some staff were nice, other staff very rude almost to the point of beligerence. As I complained about the bikes, because I was looking forward to riding them down the boardwalk, the counter guy just ignored me.... no seriously he would not talk to me, he just sat at the desk looking at his TV... I stood there for 1 minute...... i would never stay there again... its as simple as that.

The place was OK at best. I liked the close proximity to the beach and restaurants but the hotel was located on a very busy street. The place also was a little tired, kind of run down. Lastly, we had a mouse in our room that really freaked out my two young girls and wife. Luckly for us he arrived on our last day so we didn't even mention it to the staff, not that they would have done anything. I'm going to try to find something close by but newer. I guess you get what you pay for.

Shabby Chic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/07
I liked it all. Two steps from the beach where you can walk for miles without fear. They furnish beach chairs, bikes to ride on the boardwalk, a great breakfast right near the Crab Cooker and the pier. Perfect for shopping, dining, surfing, reading, great for kids and all ages.

The sun shines and the waves crash
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/06
This place was a nice place to stay by the beach without the expensive charges other hotels charge. It was a little bit of a walk to the beach, but under a mile. Good places to eat near by. But, the floor was dirty and there were ants in the room.

Terrible place
By al, 05/18/06
This place did not at all look like the pictures on the website. The rooms were old, musty, and dirty. This place was definitely not worth the money I paid and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Absolute horrible nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/06
My wife and I wanted to find a nice place near the beach and we found Little Inn By the Bay on the web...a very slick and misleading site we later found out. The person who answered the phone after multiple rings sounded groggy and uninterested in us booking the "best" room for a weekend. He actually answered the phone with a very unprofessional "Hello" We arrived late at night and were shocked at its location in the middle of a loud street. My wife was very upset as this is not what we were expecting and I tried to get a refund and not stay the night but they refused only refunding one of my nights. We had driven so far that we had no choice. Our top of the line room featured a private balcony which consisted of nothing more than a fenced in area with astroturf that sat on top of the carport roof and overlooked a liquor store. I don't know how they can market this as "by" the bay because the only thing "by" us was a Hooters. The room was freezing and the desk clerk had to call the manager to ask how to get heat to the room. A small pull out plug-in radiator was offered and did nothing. A horrible night's sleep with loud people and traffic outside our window all night. We left at 7am just to get out of there and cancelled our weekend which was to get away and celebrate our birthdays. On the way out I noticed the bikes they offered to ride to the beach were sitting in a rusted tangle and the complimentary breakfast that look so bountiful on the website was reduced to a pink box of greasy doughnuts. Needless to say this place is the worst we have ever stayed and the $200 per night asking price for their "best" room is highway robbery. We suffered so you don't have to. Be warned and stay away from the Little Inn by the Bay.

It was a very tired and old motel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/06
Sink did not work, two days in a row. Remote for TV did not work. Noisy, ice machine was right outside my door. Also, alot of traffic noise. Finish was peeling on the room's furniture. I told them about the first two items and no effort was made to correct them.

Nice little inn
By MarkR, 01/04/06
Location is the main reason I chose this hotel. I am very familiar with the area and it was a good base to embark from to enjoy all the local offerings. Those looking for top notch amenities and accomodations may be disappointed, though they shouldn't be, because that is not why you should stay here. If you go on vacation and plan to spend all your time inside your room or the complex, look for a five star hotel. This facility was clean, well maintained, with the requisite HBO and wireless access. Will definitely stay here again, on my next trip.
