NEVER going back!
By Rhonda, 09/14/08
I booked this res because it was close to where I needed to be, parking was free and the room had a refrigerator. The surrounding area is a run down China town to which the shops are CASH ONLY, my room was filthy! The television, coffee maker and refrigerator did not work. When I called down to the front desk they said nothing could be done about it until the manager came in the next morning. I was only there for one night so I expected some sort of incentive. NO. The manager said his "friend" told him of the situation and I did not give them a chance to fix it. I was NEVER offered to change rooms. Then he changed his story and said I never called down in the first place to complain. So now he's calling me a liar. AND to top it off he explained to me that everything is checked by the staff at each check out so I just wasn't working the appliances correctly. He refused to go to the room and check it out. Then he said he had no authority to give me any incentive and I had to go back to the company I booked the reservation through. That doesn't make sense seeing as how it was the hotel who did not live up to their own standards. I was so mad by the time I left. And I'm still mad that the manager was such a jerk. Motel 6 is better than this "hotel." Not worth it in any respects.

I'd go back.
By Hetr33, 07/16/08
I travel all the time, so I'm always looking for good deals. I'm not interested in paying for all kinds of extra amenities I'm never going to use. This hotel is a good bargain, and I would go back.

Inexpensive
By Marcus, 07/11/08
With everything getting more and more expensive, this place is pretty good for the price. Of course, I wouldn't go there on my honeymoon or anything. I thought the people were nice; but then again, I'm not one of those kinds of customers that expect the hotel staff to kiss my feet.

worse hotel stay ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/08
I'd have to disagree with the previous review who says that all the negative reviews about this hotel must be from the Hilton employees. I'm just a 25 year old college girl that was looking for a decent place to stay that was close to the San Gabriel shopping center. I can't afford the Hilton since it was $200 a night so we went online and found the Lincoln Plaza Hotel instead. I paid a little over $100 for my room but that's because I booked a little late. But anyways this is my story: My boyfriend and I checked in and left to eat without seeing the room first. 4 hours later we came back and the first thing we noticed was how old, dirty, and foul smelling the room was. There were flies in the room. (I am not kidding you) What made it worse was that our room was on the 7th floor, but we could still hear the late night bar/karaoke below us. The room looks more like a motel than a hotel. I've stayed at a Days Inn that was cleaner than this. So we went to the front desk and spoke with the desk clerk to ask for a refund, because at this point we expected the room to be at least decent for the price we paid. She sends another worker to check our room, which we had not even used yet, he came back and said it was okay in chinese and she replied with what do you mean okay?! (I guess she had assumed that we couldn't understand her) So then she tells us that she can't give us a refund because we had "touched" the room, even though we just clearly heard her coworker told her that the room was fine. So we asked for a room change and she offered us a room that was even dirtier and worse than the one before. At this point my boyfriend was really angry and we went back down to ask to check out and if we could at least pro-rate the room if she wasn't going to give us a decent room or a full refund. She kept arguing that the hotel policy won't allow her to ANYTHING and when we asked to see the policy she wouldn't give it to us. Then she told us that we had to wait till the next morning when the manager comes back. To summarize - don't waste your money renting here. You're pretty much paying hotel prices for even less than motel quality. But in their defense, they do have internet...

Interesting..
By Marcus, 04/22/08
I've heard of competitors writing fake/negative reviews to hurt each other, but the one below really takes the cake. It was obviously written by a Hilton employee who has never actually stepped foot in the Lincoln Plaza Hotel. Incidentally, the nearest Hilton is miles away (not 3 blocks); and if you prefer to spend $200-$300 dollars per night at an overpriced hotel, then that's your prerogative. The rest of us normal people just need a decent place to sleep.

horrible hotel, never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/08
hotel rooms are dirty, old decor, and smell bad. i will never stay there again... also bad service as well, poor doesn't work, no internet, old carpeting... list goes on and on, i really do not have anything good to say about this hotel. i'd rather spend 200 a night to stay at hilton just 3 blocks away!

Great Deal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/06
I have stayed at the Lincoln Plaza Hotel serveral times. The new owners appear to be making a lot of improvements to the rooms and the rest of the building. I was very happy with my room on my latest visit. The hotel itself is perfect for anyone who just wants a clean, comfortable place to sleep. It doesn't pretend to be some luxury facility, but it have the conveniences you'd expect from a nice hotel. And considering that a room at a Motel 6 now costs $56 bucks, you do get a great deal for your money at the Lincoln Plaza ($75 to $85). The location is great. It's close to the 10 Freeway. And if you like Asian food, you'll love the City of Monterey Park.

Good value for the price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/05
The Lincoln Plaza Hotel is located in the middle of Monterey Park. MP is a largely Asian city just 10 minutes east of Downtown Los Angeles. If you like Asian food as much as I do, this is the place to be. The Hotel offers the basic amenities and is in a great, centralized location if you plan on traveling around the Southern California area. It's clean and comfortable, and that's all that matters to me. At $75 for a single room, it's well worth the price.
