Cottage Inn By The Sea, Pismo Beach

Our complaints to the management got us nowhere, in fact, they offered to 'check us out'! With so many choices, we will not worry about foot fungus and the like the next time we spend the weekend at Pismo!

Not the least expensive but............lovely quaint exterior, smallish but really nice rooms with gas fire place, lg. bathroom and closet, beautiful views, (especially from the second floor if you don't get a cliff side room),fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereals, make-your-own waffles, etc. type breakfast nicely attended, polite effecient personell, beautiful, beautiful beach (did I say the beach is beautiful?). We've stayed for several days each Dec. for some years now and have never been disappointed. Close to other beach cities and stuff to explore. This place is fantastic.

Booked reservations over one month in advance. Confermation was for the weekend before. When I checked the morning before checkin they said our reservation was for the proper weekend. I asked about the rates and they said they were the same, about $200 a night. When we checked in the rate went up an additional $90 a night. When I showed them the email confermation they said it was a mistake. The same people I talked to that morning. The $180 increase was a big inconvience, they said I could go look around for a room some where else if I wanted. They had me over the barrel so I paid the price. No customer service and not willing back up their word. I have stayed there before in the past but will not again. There are other places just as nice and with real customer service. Be careful even if you get it in writing.

This hotel is not the cozy beach hotel its website portrays it to be. Its right by the highway and the rooms are smaller than portrayed. My husband was charged 70$ for an "upgrade" when we a) arrived at 10 pm and b) asked for a quiet room after arriving with our 3 yr old and realizing this is a glorified motel 6. The room we were given was a matchbox. This hotel is NOT worth even $100 a night.

I loved it here we went for our anniversary and it was perfect. The staff was very nice it was clean the location is great. We are staying here every year and may 2 or 3 times a year. We have recommended it to everyone we know. It was a little pricey but well worth it.

Clean and fresh and probably recently updated. The heat was a gas fireplace in our room and more than sufficient. There was no thermostat in the room so don't know how temperatures would be in the rooms in summer but there was a large ceiling fan and big windows. The tall ceilings made our 2nd story large room (two queens) seem even more airy and spacious. I liked the big bathroom counter and the large closet. The continental plus style breakfast buffet (you know, waffle maker; bagels; yogurt) was well tended. The breakfast room attendant and the clerks were friendly and efficient Did not use the pool since it was December.

We had the most wonderful visit at this hotel. We had a wedding to attend on 3/16/08 and my family booked eight (8) rooms and they were all very nice with a fire place in each room. The staff was very polite and helpful especially the girls at the front desk. The breakfast in the morning was awesome and the food was constantly refilled. (Plus they had a waffle machine) They had internet service as well. I would stay here again. A very smoothly run place. Very refreshing!!! Congrats!!

This hotel is one that I will always go back to. The room was amazing w/ a beautiful view of the ocean, the room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the customer service was incredible. We were assisted by Mary from the beginning of our stay until the end. She was very helpful, very friendly, and seemed very sincere when she asked if we had a pleasant stay. We will go back!

We loved the ambiance of these accommodations. The morning breakfast was well done, too. Very nice and we hope to come back and stay again!

We stayed at Cottage Inn by the Sea in February and it was the nicest room I had stayed in in the Pismo area. The view was beautiful. Our room had a fireplace, nice clean bathroom and the beds were comfy!! The one issue I had was there was no beach access, we had to take a short walk to the neighboring hotel and go through thier property to access the beach, but I will definately stay at the Cottage Inn again.. a little walking never hurt anyone!!
