10 reviews for Alameda Islander Motel, Alameda
worst in the west
By Robert, 02/10/09
this is the low of lows unless you are a whore, pimp, drug addict, or completetly destitute steer clear of this shithole. management steals as do the maids, as do the alcoholic repair persons. pets bark all night, the assistant manager has a husband who plays and practices his drumset. And when you complain you are blamed for being rude. They pocket all deposits and you are rude when you ask for them back. So unless you want to be insulted, abused, and ripped off feel free to say in this house of horrors

Horror Drug Filled Motel in Alameda
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/08
I like nothing about this hell hole. The staff are dope fiends, rude, uneducated and wont do anything about the drugs being smoked and sold there, the crack fiends living in the garage downstairs, the rooms are filthy - appliances dont work properly. Petowners let their dogs run wild. They should tear this hotel DOWN!

By far the worst hotel EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/07
OH my dear lord where do I start? Let me just say this. I am not known to be a neat freak, in fact my fiance thinks I am one of the biggest slobs around, and I agree. I have lived in pretty run down apt complexes. I don't mind living amongst a little filth. One day, I got a room at the Islander hotel in Alameda. Let's just say I didn't stay there long, actually, I stayed there about 10 minutes before I ran out screaming and didn't even argue to get my money back. A place like this should be torn down so quickly there shouldn't be any argument about it. This was the most scariest, dirtiest, horrendous, nightmare of a hotel you will EVER see. Stay FAR FAR away from this place unless you want it to haunt your dreams. I am absolutely shocked that a place like this even exists, especially in Alameda. Holy cow, shocking.

The most revoulting place on earth!!!
By Jennifer, 10/10/05
Never ever stay at the islander, 2 weeks ago they found a 400lb dead man who had been dead for a week before they found him, and didnt clean up the room for another week after they found him, also the place is crawling with drug dealers crack heads and prostitutes, the manager herself is a drug addict she smokes Meth and so does her husband, the police are constantly there arresting people or finding dead body's, you are probably wondering how i know all this, i know for one because my husband rekeys all the rooms for them when needed, and because i live 4 houses away from this place, i am constantly calling the police on people that stay there for being drunk and violent around my house, or for screaming and fighting all night in font of my house, pleeeeeeeeease dont stay at this place, if i had my choice of it being torn down i would have it torn down right now!!!

Great Rates
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/05
It's not ritzy but it is in a safe area and has nice extended stay rates and plenty of parking. Located near San Francisco. Alameda is the best town in the East Bay and surpasses Berkeley for things to do.

NEVER AGAIN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/05
There was nothing at all that I liked. As a matter of fact, we moved hotels after one day and the place is still holding our $ 400 + in monies that they promised to release immediately but failed to do so. There is a foul stench that surrounds the lagoon area, the rooms are run down and there was no high speed internet as advertised. My husband and I would never stay there again, nor would we recommend it to any of our associates or friends.

It's a cheap place to stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/05
The Alameda Islander is a place to stay/ live if you have/make little money. If you are going to stay/live there for a while, bring cleaning supplies. It is dirty, but it's pretty cheap and in Alameda. All I have to say about that is that it's better that looking for an extended stay motel in Oakland. Almost any area in Alameda is safe. There might be alittle marijuana selling there, but nothing too hardcore. It's not that quiet. But there is plenty of free safe parking around the motel. Alameda is a low crime city, so low in crime, the cops just give tickets all day and mess with the young people. It's 1 block away from the cutest little shops and restaurants. If you are nice, neat, and quiet like myself, the front desk will love you and treat you nice. All rooms have stoves, tables, chairs, tv, and a good size bed. Wash the linens or bring your own. Just be ready to do some heavy duty cleaning when you arrive. Mop, gloves, lysol, the whole bit. Good area which is the only reason to stay. Good price.

Totally Gross
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/04
Don't go there unless you have to. But to be honest you'll probably have a better night of sleep in your car.
