I wish I knew this site before I booked!

I wish I knew about this site before I booked! This hotel was extremely dirty! The person who wrote the review about a cockroach found in their bathroom happened on our stay as well! My wife screamed when she saw a cockroach in our bathroom. I ran around the bathroom with my shoe trying to stomp the cockroach. It went in a crack in the corner of the bathroom and that was the last we saw of it. Needless to say that was the start of more things to come. The staff couldn't have cared less that there was a cockroach in our bathroom. This was the worst Valentine's Day stay we've ever had. Please take our advice and do not stay at this Best Western. You'll regret it!

cockroach hotel

We were concerned about the negative reviews on this hotel but decided to give it a try because the price was so inexpensive. We regret staying here. The lady who checked us in at the front desk wasn't friendly. The location of this hotel was so bad. It's not anywhere you want to be. It's blocks from the ocean and not near any shops, restaurants, etc... By the way, they lied to us when we made our reservation by telling us that they have an excellent location and are near everything which couldn't be further from the truth. When we walked into our room there was no natural light coming in and with no view. Just a view of another building behind it. The room was extremely dirty! The carpets were stained, curtains and comforter had cigarette smoke coming from it with an over whelming smell. Our bathroom had a cockroach on the floor in the corner by the bathtub. Disgusting!!! We called the front desk and the lady who checked us in answered and was of no use what so ever. She basically told us that you get what you paid for and wasn't able to move us to another room because they were sold out! Take my advice and stay at another hotel because this one was horrible!

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The location is horrible. The staff is rude. Our room was a dump and the complete hotel needs a remodel. Avoid getting ripped off like me. Stay somewhere else. Don't walk. RUN!!!

What a Dump!

DO NOT STAY HERE! We hated our stay in this hotel. They lied to us about the room. Told us that the hotel was close to the ocean but they are the furthest from the ocean. The staff is not friendly and our room was dirty, smelled and the AC didn't work. Take my advice and DO NOT STAY HERE!

Not a greatest place

Stayed there obvernight 2 weeks ago. Room had visibly dirty bathroom sink. Manager changed room when I complained. Second room wasn't clean either. Someone's hair in the bed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody since there are many much better hotels around.

A bad experience

At the time I stayed in this hotel, the staff was not trustworthy and the management was terrible. The rooms were dated and not terrible clean. I left and went to another hotel . I would not reccommend this hotel at all.

Great location

Only two blocks from beautiful La Jolla beach and very close to shops and restaurants, this hotel is perfectly situated. Unfortunately the elevators made so much noise that the room was intolerable to sleep in. Really, really loud. Otherwise the rooms were decent; good-sized with a private balcony. Nice heated pool but no spa or exercize facilities. Complimentary breakfast was not great. Staff was fairly friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel and Value

After searching for a reasonably priced hotel in the village of La Jolla, I found the Inn by the Sea Hotel. The price ws right! About $50 cheaper than anyone else in the village. The room was clean with a patio. The room was stocked with a robe, coffee and maker, hair dryer, iron & board and free wireless internet...more amenities than some of the higher priced hotels in the area.
